• General items related to safety are listed in the Chapter 1: Safety of


Controller Instructions. To ensure correct and safe operation, carefully
read Controller Instructions before reading this manual.

CAUTION
• Some drawings in this manual are shown with the protective covers or
shields removed for clarity. Be sure all covers and shields are replaced
before operating this product.

• The drawings and photos in this manual are representative examples


and differences may exist between them and the delivered product.

Ultimately, well-trained personnel are the best safeguard against accidents and damage that can result
from improper operation of the equipment. The customer is responsible for providing adequately
trained personnel to operate, program, and maintain the equipment. NEVER ALLOW UNTRAINED
PERSONNEL TO OPERATE, PROGRAM, OR REPAIR THE EQUIPMENT!
We recommend approved YASKAWA training courses for all personnel involved with the operation,
programming, or repair of the equipment.
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device,
pursuant to part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection
against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This
equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in
accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio communications.

Notes for Safe Operation

Notes for Safe Operation


Before using this product, read this manual and all the other related documents carefully to
ensure knowledge about the product and safety, including all the cautions.
In this manual, the Notes for Safe Operation are classified as “DANGER”, “WARNING”,
“CAUTION”, or ”NOTICE”.

Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not


DANGER avoided, will result in death or serious injury. Safety Signs
identified by the signal word DANGER should be used
sparingly and only for those situations presenting the most
serious hazards.
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not
WARNING avoided, will result in death or serious injury. Hazards
identified by the signal word WARNING present a lesser
degree of risk of injury or death than those identified by the
signal word DANGER.
Indicates a hazardous situation, which if not avoided, could
CAUTION result in minor or moderate injury. It may also be used without
the safety alert symbol as an alternative to “NOTICE”.
NOTICE is the preferred signal word to address practices not
NOTICE related to personal injury. The safety alert symbol should not
be used with this signal word. As an alternative to “NOTICE”,
the word “CAUTION” without the safety alert symbol may be
used to indicate a message not related to personal injury.

Even items described as “CAUTION” may result in a serious accident in some situations. At
any rate, be sure to follow these important items.

NOTE To ensure safe and efficient operation at all times, be sure to follow all instructions,
even if not designated as “DANGER”, “WARNING” and “CAUTION”.

Description of the Operation Procedure


In the explanation of the operation procedure, the expression "Select • • • " means the
following operations:
• To move the cursor to the object item and left-click on it with the mouse.
• To pick out the object item by the tab key and press the Enter key.
(In case of selecting a menu, use arrow keys instead of the tab key to pick out the object
item, then press the Enter key.)

Registered Trademark
In this manual, names of companies, corporations, or products are trademarks, registered
trademarks, or bland names for each company or corporation. The indications of (R) and TM
are omitted.

Safeguarding Tips

Safeguarding Tips
All operators, programmers, maintenance personnel, supervisors, and anyone working near
the system must become familiar with the operation of this equipment. All personnel involved
with the operation of the equipment must understand potential dangers of operation. General
safeguarding tips are as follows:
• Improper operation can result in personal injury and/or damage to the equipment. Only
trained personnel familiar with the operation of this equipment, the operator's manuals,
the system equipment, and options and accessories should be permitted to operate this
equipment.
• Improper connections can damage the equipment. All connections must be made within
the standard voltage and current ratings of the equipment.
• The system must be placed in Emergency Stop (E-Stop) mode whenever it is not in use.
• In accordance with ANSI/RIA R15.06-2012, section 4.2.5, Sources of Energy, use
lockout/tagout procedures during equipment maintenance. Refer also to Section
1910.147 (29CFR, Part 1910), Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General
Industry (OSHA).

Programming, Operation, and Maintenance Safety

Programming, Operation, and Maintenance Safety


All operators, programmers, maintenance personnel, supervisors, and anyone working near
the system must become familiar with the operation of this equipment. Improper operation can
result in personal injury and/or damage to the equipment. Only trained personnel familiar with
the operation, manuals, electrical design, and equipment interconnections of this equipment
should be permitted to program, or maintain the system. All personnel involved with the
operation of the equipment must understand potential dangers of operation.
• Inspect the equipment to be sure no potentially hazardous conditions exist. Be sure the
area is clean and free of water, oil, debris, etc.
• Be sure that all safeguards are in place. Check all safety equipment for proper operation.
Repair or replace any non-functioning safety equipment immediately.
• Check the E-Stop button on the operator station for proper operation before
programming. The equipment must be placed in Emergency Stop (E-Stop) mode
whenever it is not in use.
• Back up all programs and jobs onto suitable media before program changes are made. To
avoid loss of information, programs, or jobs, a backup must always be made before any
service procedures are done and before any changes are made to options, accessories,
or equipment.
• Any modifications to the controller unit can cause severe personal injury or death, as well
as damage to the robot! Do not make any modifications to the controller unit. Making any
changes without the written permission from YASKAWA will void the warranty.
• Some operations require a standard passwords and some require special passwords.
• The equipment allows modifications of the software for maximum performance. Care
must be taken when making these modifications. All modifications made to the software
will change the way the equipment operates and can cause severe personal injury or
death, as well as damage parts of the system. Double check all modifications under every
mode of operation to ensure that the changes have not created hazards or dangerous
situations.
• This equipment has multiple sources of electrical supply. Electrical interconnections are
made between the controller and other equipment. Disconnect and lockout/tagout all
electrical circuits before making any modifications or connections.
• Do not perform any maintenance procedures before reading and understanding the
proper procedures in the appropriate manual.
• Use proper replacement parts.
• Improper connections can damage the equipment. All connections must be made within
the standard voltage and current ratings of the equipment.

Maintenance Safety
Turn the power OFF and disconnect and lockout/tagout all electrical circuits before making
any modifications or connections.
Perform only the maintenance described in this manual. Maintenance other than specified in
this manual should be performed only by YASKAWA-trained, qualified personnel.

1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 What Is the Job EditorDX200?

The Job EditorDX200 is editing software for INFORM Ⅲ , the control language of the robot
controller, the DX200.

1.1.1 Features
On a personal computer, Job EditorDX200 can be used in the same manner as a
programming pendant to edit jobs. The displays where editing can be done are the same as
those for the programming pendant. Anyone who can edit with the programming pendant can
easily use this software.

Since the parameter file used in Job EditorDX200 are the same used in the
NOTE programming pendant, required instructions and additional items (such as tags,
numeric data) may not be displayed properly unless presetting each parameter
options.

1.3 Hardware Lock Key

For proper operation, connect provided hardware lock key (USB type) to personal computer
before using this software.

Check and execute <Check the computing environment> <Installation of driver> before
connecting the key to USB port.

<Check the computing environment>


Multi-connection of USB type key is not available for one USB port because of hardware
structure. Therefore, only one key should be connected to one USB port. When installing
multiple offline software into one personal computer and multi-connectiong USB keys, use the
personal computer which is provided same numbers of USB ports as the number of software
to be installed.

<Installation of driver>

NOTE Please install the driver after detaching the all sentinel hardware key from the
personal computer.

Execute “\SentinelDriver\Sentinel System Driver Installer 7.5.9.exe” of installation CD-ROM.


Refer to “\SentinelDriver\Manual\Sentinel System Driver ReadMe.pdf” for the details of
installation.

• Be sure to install the driver.


NOTE
• When installing the driver, be sure to login in administrator mode in order to add
files to system folder and input information in registry.
• If a key is connected to personal computer before installing the driver,the
message concerning the driver is displayed. In this case, and detach the key
from personal computer and then install the driver.
If a key is connected to personal computer before installing the driver under
Windows 95/98/NT4.0/2000/XP environment, Windows wizard ([Add New
Hardware] Wizard) starts up. In this case, push [cancel], and detach the key from
personal computer and then install the driver.
• When installing the driver under Windows NT4.0 environment, please install the
driver located in the folder “\SentinelDriver\SSD5411\SSD5411-32bit.EXE” of
installation CD-ROM.
For the driver installation procedure, please consult the installation manuarl
“\SentinelDriver\SSD5411\Manual\us\Readme.pdf”.

Refer to section 6.1 "Frequently-asked questions" for other countermeasures concerning


hardware lock key.

1.4 Installing Job EditorDX200

1. It is strongly recommended that you exit all applications before running the setup
program.

NOTE Be sure to login in administrator mode when installing the Job EditorDX200, or
else the system related DLL files in Windows might not be updated.

2. Insert the installation CD into the CD-ROM drive. When the [User Account Control]
dialog appears automatically, click [Yes]. [Job EditorDX200 - InstallShield Wizard] will
be displayed.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

If the following message appears during the installation, press [Yes] to continue
NOTE installation.
This message is displayed when the installation of redistribution package of Visual
C ++ 2012 has been executed but installation is required.
If this message is displayed, run manually
\ISSetupPrerequisites\{BF2F04CD-3D1F-444e-8960-
D08EBD285C3F}\vcredist_x86.exe after installing Job EditorDX200, and install or
repair the redistribution package of Visual C ++ 2012.

4. When the setup is completed, Job EditorDX200 is registered under the {Job
EditorDX200} folder that appears by clicking the [Start] button in the task bar and
selecting {Program} and then {Motoman}. (In the case of Windows10, all menu
appears directly under [Motoman].)
5. Connect the hardware key to the printer port or USB port.
For details, refer to section 1.3 "Hardware Lock Key" in this chapter.

2.1 Basic Concept and Operation Flow

2.1.1 Operation Flow


This software requires only parameter files. To edit the same instructions as the programming
pendant, save the parameter file from the programming pendant in advance.

 Saving a Parameter File (ALL.PRM)


Save ALL.PRM and the job file to be edited from the programming pendant.

Since the parameter file used in Job EditorDX200 are the same used in the
NOTE programming pendant, required instructions and additional items (such as tags,
numeric data) may not be displayed properly unless presetting each parameter
options.

 Creating a Folder
Create a folder anywhere on the personal computer, and copy the parameter file and job file
that have been saved from the programming pendant to the folder.

 Editing
Use the Job EditorDX200 to open the job file and save it after editing.

 Loading to the Programming Pendant


Load the edited file to the programming pendant using the same procedure as described in
"Saving a Parameter File (ALL.PRM)".

Job Folder Name


Select the job folder name. Or, enter the new job folder name using lower-case letters,
maximum 32 characters.

In the text mode, There are the following restrictions.


NOTE • Job header part is not be automatically corrected. If move instruction or aliases is
modified, the header part needs to be modified in the manual.
• Macro instruction does not appear in the macro job name.
• There are restrictions on the input support function.
• Input Support is case-sensitive.
• The candidates display demends on the language level.
• ON/OFF and CONTANT is not displayed.
• About the structured language, the candidates of the conditional statement
and the candidates (AND or OR) after the conditional statement is not
available.
• The displayed format is the text data saved in ex. memory. So, WHILE,
IFTHEN, AND and Or are displayed as WHILEEXP, IFTHENEXP, ANDEXP
and OREXP.
• The candidates after the EXPRESS of SET instruction is not available.
• The candidates of macro instruction is not available.
• The candidates of aliases is not available.
When clicking [Text], the following dialog appears sometimes.
When clicking [Yes], the file is saved and shift to Text mode.
When clicking [No], the file is not saved and shift to Text mode.
When clicking [Cancel], mode shift is canceled.

If there is a temporary file that has been saved in the previous text mode, the
following dialog appears.
When clicking [Yes], the temporary file is opened instead of the current job file and
shift to Text mode.
When clicking [No], the current is opened and shift to Text mode.

The temporary file is automatically deleted when the job file has been successfully
saved in text mode.

Since the “language level“ is set to “Reduction” by default, the instruction types displayed are
less than the total number available. Setting the language level to “Extension” increases the
number of instruction types displayed.

5.3.2 Parameter Option


For example, the SRCH tag is one of several instructions that can be added to MOVL.
Because the instruction is a parameter option, it requires the parameter file, where the flag

6.1.1 When the driver has been installed with USB type key
connected to a personal computer
1. Under the state that the USB type key is attached to the personal computer, delete the
item registered as "USB Token" in Device Manager.
2. Uninstall the driver (Sentinel System Driver) with [Add/Remove Programs].
3. Install the driver with key detached from personal computer. With the procedure
above, the driver can be performed normally.
