Web 1.0 2.0 3.0

Web 1.0 (1990-2000) featured simple, static websites where users could only read information provided by content producers with limited interaction. Web 2.0 (2000s) enabled two-way interaction between users and websites as well as user-to-user interaction through user-generated content and social media. Examples include blogs, wikis, social networking sites and video sharing sites. Web 3.0 utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning to personalize the user experience by processing user data and behavioral patterns to anticipate their needs and suggest relevant information and products.

 The websites that are built during this time is very simple. Web 1.

0, also known as Syntactic

web or read-only web, is the era (1990–2000) in which a user's role is limited to reading the
information provided by content producers.

Static in a way where webmasters or web developers just published their contents online and
users just passively received information. There was no way to react or make reviews and
feedback, making some comments or reactions or writing your opinions about the post not
unlike what we have today. Today we

Interactions between the websites and users were very limited. Again, during the web 1.0 users
doesn’t have the opportunity to make some comments, reactions or any kind of feedback.

 Web 2.0 is the second phase of web development. Users are now able to interact not only
on the website but there was also interaction among users. Web 2.0 facilitated the sharing
of contents. This feature flooded the world wide web with all types of contents in almost
any subject matter that we know. Web 2.0 was a huge explosion. Almost any content that
you wanted to search for the internet is already available from various sources. Things
like fashion, travel, food, music, fitness and health, sports, history, you name it. So the
web is dominating when it comes to content.
 Based on the presented definition of web 2.0, who can give some examples of web 2.0?
 Almost all website that you see today on the internet are product of web 2.0 Users are
now more involved to information being published in the internet. Unlike web 1.0, the
type that can be published in web 2,0 is more robust. They not only text in images but
also large files like videos can now be easily shared and circulated worldwide

Web 3.0

You might have noticed that in your smartphone, facebook is notifying you that somebody posted a
photo that might include you? Or some apps in your smartphone are aware oy your currect location . So
the GPS or google map is actually tracking your location real time.

So in Web 3.0, the web will now process data and information based on the needs of users.

In web 2.0, users must explicitly look for the information that they are trying to search. So they need to
put accurate keywords in order to be able to search the information they are looking for. In web 2.0, it
doesn’t care why you are searching for that information or why you are buying a certain product online.

But in Web 3.0, its different. Web 3.0 cares about the information you are trying to search. The web 3.0
now cares about the product you purchase online. Web 3.0 can anticipate what products or information
you might need in the future. It is aware of your online behavioral pattern and processing all this
information in order for the computer to be able to make some suggestions for you.

For example, have you tried browsing a certain product in marketplaces like shopee or Lazada and then
while browsing Instagram or facebook may madadaanan ka sa newsfeed mo similar to the product you
are searching for?

Or may Nakita na ba kayong pictures or videos on facebook na may nakalagay “suggested for you”?
If you noticed, Web 3.0 is now personalized because the web now analyzes your behavioral pattern
online. It will try to anticipate your needs, it takes into account your location, your behavioral pattern,
your preferred products and services and those things that you prefer will be on top of the list.

Web 3.0 is characterized by machine learning, automation and artificial intelligence.
