Winnie the Witch always travels

by broomstick.
It is a wonderful way to travel!

Winnie jumps onto her broomstick.

Wilbur jumps onto her shoulder.
And they zoom up into the sky.

There are not traffic lights.

No traffic jams.
Just the empty sky.

Well, that is how it used to be.

But now the sky has become rather crowded!

Winnie doesn’t see a helicopter.

Wilbur loses two of his wiskers!

Then she doesn’t see a hang glider.

Wilbur’s tail is bent.

And a very tall building suddenly gets in her way.

Wilbur loses a clump of fur.

“The sky is too dangerous, Wilbur,” says Winnie.

“We have to try something else.”

So she waves her magic wand

and ...“ABRACADABRA!”

 Her broomstick turns into a bicycle.
But it is very slow.
Very hard to pedal.

And then a pond gets in Winnie’s way.

“You should look where you’re going,”
croaks a frog.

“A bicycle is worse than a broomstick,

Wilbur,” says Winnie.
“We have to try something else”.
So she waves her magic wand and... ABRACADABRA!

Her bicycle turns into a

skateboard.
The skateboard is fast.
But it is hard to steer.
And impossible to stop.

Winnie is stopped by
an ice-cream seller.
“Don’t you see where
you’re going?” he shouts.

A skateboard is worse than a bicycle, Wilbur,” says Winnie.

“We have to try something else”.
So she waves her magic wand and... ABRACADABRA!

 Her skateboard turns into a horse
and they trot slowly into the path.
“This is much better than
bicycles or skateboards,”
says Winnie.

But she doesn’t see the branch

of a tree!
Winnie doesn’t say anything.

She hangs from the branch.

Slowly and carefully, Winnie climbs down from the tree.
“I think we walk home, Wilbur,” says Winnie.
They walk along the road.
It is a very very slow way to travel.

But it is safe...
Until Winnie steps into a hole and trumbles deep down under the ground!
“I think I need a cup of tea, Wilbur,” says Winnie.

 Winnie climbs out of the tunnel and
goes into a shop.
“A cup of tea and a muffin, please,”
she says.
“And a saucer of milk for my cat.”

“We don’t sell cup of tea or muffins,”

says the shop lady.
“And we don’t have milk.
But I think I can help you.”

And she sells Winnie a pair of spectacles.

Now, Winnie and Wilbur travel everywhere by broomstick.
It’s a wonderful way to travel!
