Kitagawa Tube List

This document provides information on detector tubes from Matheson-Kitagawa that are used in their toxic gas detector system. It describes how the detector tubes work by absorbing and reacting with gases to create a colorimetric stain proportional to concentration. It then lists detector tubes for various substances like acetaldehyde, acetic acid, and acetone along with each tube's measuring range, number of pump strokes needed, original/stained colors, shelf life, and potential interferences. Other Matheson products like qualitative analysis tubes and air quality testing kits are also mentioned.

Detector Tube Listing

for MATHESON-Kitagawa Toxic Gas Detector System

Description
MATHESON-Kitagawa Precision Detector Tubes are formulated
with high purity reagents that absorb and react with the gas
or vapor being measured. The reaction causes a colorimetric
stain that varies in length proportional to the concentration
of the gas or vapor being measured. For most tubes, the
concentration is read directly from the measurement scale
etched on each tube.

Just three easy steps are required to operate the detector:

(1) B
reak off both ends of a sealed, fresh
detector tube in the pump’s tip cutter. A MATHESON-Kitagawa Toxic Gas Detector Tubes
special compartment retains the broken
tips until it is convenient to discard them.

(2) Insert the detector tube into the

pump’s sample inlet, with the air
flow arrow pointing toward the
pump.

(3) Line up the red dots on the pump shaft and

pump end collar, and pull the pump handle all
the way out. The handle automatically locks
and the pump begins to draw a 100cc sample
through the detector tube. A proprietary Sample
VueTM indicator shows when sampling is complete
(typically less than thirty seconds). MATHESON-Kitagawa Toxic Gas Detector
