Art Processes, Elements,
1 and Principles Applied in
New Technologies
Hello dear learners, do you have any idea on what to learn today? Do you believe in
the saying that no two things are exactly the same or may look perfectly alike? Yes, just like
us. When God created man, He patterned him after His image and likeness but still we are
not like Him. Even brothers and sisters coming from the same father and mother don’t look
alike or may be alike in some features only. This is because we are unique in our own way.
We differ from one another in looks, in size, in shape, in color, and even in movement but just
the same, we are all humans created by God. Like arts, they differ from one another. There
are different kinds of processes, elements, and principles too. So, what are you waiting for?

What is It
Seeing beautiful things around us make us aware of the importance of art elements
and principles in our life. It inspires us to create things using our own imagination.
Line is a point or a dot drawn continuously, it can be either straight or curve line. When
group together, it produces a beautiful picture. By using the right lines and putting them into
the point of emphasis, balance, or proportion, we can form a wonderful figure or composition.
Everything around us has a shape. These different shapes make our world an
interesting and beautiful place to live in. They may have regular shapes like the circle, square,
rectangle, triangle, and oval. Shapes are made when both ends of lines meet or close. Form
is another term for shape.
Some objects may be rough or smooth to touch; others may be hard or soft; still others
may be flat or wrinkled. The different surface qualities of the objects are what we call texture.
Texture adds beauty and magic to the things seen in our daily life. It can be seen and felt in
natural objects and in art works.
Many things around us show patterns of movement, our life itself is a pattern. Because
of rhythm, simple things become pleasing and beautiful to look at. Rhythm is a principle of art
which deals with regular, uniform, and related movement of lines, forms, shapes, and texture.
Logos are images, texts, shapes, or a combination of the three that depict the name
and purpose of a business, product, trademark, etc.
Before the widespread introduction of new technologies, most artists expressed their
creative ideas through paper and pen (hand-drawn) but at present, designers may now create
symbols directly and immediately through digital process.
A well-designed logo makes an impact on our eyes and minds. These logos can be
made through the use of new technology. Different applications can be found in our computer
or even in our gadgets like smartphone and tablets.
