C. Content/Text Discussion
21st Century Learning and the 4Cs
• What are the 4Cs?
• Why the 4Cs?
A focus on collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking is

Teachers’ Guide:
• Teachers can always incorporate Speaking and Listening skills with this type of
content. In able for students to demonstrate the 4Cs of 21st Century, they need to
have good speaking and listening skills for they will be communicating with each
other.
• Teachers can give activities before or during discussion about speaking
and listening and then, by incorporating the aforementioned skills, proceed to the
main content of the lesson.
• Since the modality is online, teachers can show pictures and/or videos of
scenarios showing speaking/listening skills of the 4Cs of 21st Century.

II. Individual Activity - 21st Century Skills Concept Mapping
After the first part of the lecture-discussion on 21st Century Skills, you will be
asked to make a concept map regarding the different 21st Century Skills. Your concept
map will be graded based on the following criteria:
Content – 45%
Organization – 45%
Design – 10%
100%
Sample Concept Map:

2.
3.
4.
This is an example of a concept map. You can use this, or you can do your own.
When you do your own concept map, make sure that all criteria in the rows and columns
of the given sample are used.
Give the 4Cs of Education, their meanings, importance (why do we need to teach
them), methods (how to teach them), and your take-away (what did you learn from each
of the C).
III. Group Activity – Poster Making.
After the first part of the lecture-discussion on 21st Century Skills, the class will
be divided into four (4) groups. The groups will make a one-page poster showing the 4
Cs of
21st Century. Then, they need to write a description/explanation stating the meaning of
each element in your poster. The posters will be graded based on the following criteria:
Theme – 40%
Creativity – 40%
Picture Quality – 10%
Description – 10%
100%

1. Aside from collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking, are
there any other 21st century skills that learners must possess?
