Welcome to Symbol Set 6 - Isometric Cities (SS6), a

If you right-click the Default Water button, you’ll
find more tools. For example, you can use the dark and
light versions of the water drawing tool to add depth
contours to the water.
City Walls
If your town is protected
by a fortified wall, now
is a good time to draw
it, as it will define the

Streets
You can now go in
and add different
street surfaces among
the buildings.
Simply right-click
the Roads button,
choose the surface
you want and lay it
down between the
buildings. The sheet
setup will make sure none of the building symbols get
covered up.
Details and Frills
With the majority of the map done, you can now go
in and fill in those little details inside and outside the

walls that make the map
come alive.
Add a graveyard outside
the gates, hedges around
the fields, market stalls in
the central town square,
wells and fountains
around the city, etc.
The Roof Frills catalog contains many little add-ons
for the buildings, like chimneys, dormers, gargoyles,

Alternative Styles
In addition to supplying a black & white version of its
style (Isometric Cities Inks), SS6 Isometric Cities comes
with alternative effect presets that turn a full colour
map into a black & white or other variant with just a
few clicks.
To choose different sheet effects for your drawing, click
the Sheets & Effects button.
From the Effect Presets dropdown box choose the
setting SS6 Isometric Cities BW, and click No if it asks
you whether you want to add any sheets.
Check the Redraw on OK box and click OK. The map
should now appear in a black & white version, which is
very good for printing while saving ink/toner.

There are more effects presets to choose from:
• SS6 Isometric Cities Greyscale is a pure greyscale
conversion of the color style.
• SS6 Isometric Cities is a sepia-toned coloring,
approximating an old paper look.
• Try SS6 Isometric Cities if you like richer colors with
a strong contrast.
• SS6 Isometric Cities is the normal color effect preset.
