I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the period, the students are expected to:
a. Discuss the strategies on avoiding communication breakdown;
b. Point out how communication breakdown can be avoided;
c. Appreciate the concept of avoiding communication breakdown
Content Standard: The learner understands the nature and elements of oral communication in
context.
Performance Standard: The learner design sand performs effective controlled and uncontrolled
oral communication activities based on context.

III. TEACHING PROCEDURE
A. Activity
a. Pre-activity 1. Let the students enter the classroom and prepare
themselves for the class.
2. The teacher will use the English and Filipino
language including Mother Tongue, if necessary to
facilitate teaching and learning during the course of
the class (Indicator 2).
3. Attendance monitoring.
4. Call student from the class to lead the prayer.
5. Presentation of Class rules – Students are reminded
of the rules being presented by the teacher and
agreed by the students to maintain learning
environment that nurture and inspired learners to
participate, cooperate and collaborate. (Indicator
4,5)
6. Present the lesson objectives
7. Review the previous lesson (“What are the different
barriers of communication?”)
b. Activity Proper The teacher will present a video for the learners to be observed and
(Motivation) described. (this part is relevant to Personality Development)

B. Analysis The teacher will these follow up ask follow up questions:
“What is the communication barrier/s that is present to the video?”
“Did the communication of the two characters successful? In what
way did they make it successful?”

C. Abstraction The teacher will introduce the topic in relation to the previous
activity.
Presentation and discussion of the of topic

arise, you will have the gift, the style, the sharpness, the

The teacher will ask the students opinion on which strategy
is the easiest to do and the hardest. (Indicator 4, 5)
The teacher will use positive affirmation like “very good” or
show facial expressions that suggest positive meaning when
the students share answers. (Indicator 3)
D. Application Group Activity:
Applying Understanding in Avoiding Communication Breakdown:
- The leaders of the group will conduct an interview with
their group members who have experienced
communication breakdowns. The group will discuss all
the gathered information to summarize their experiences
and decide the most appropriate strategy to use in
avoiding communication breakdown.
