What you need to get started:

ring&ouid=111612205899135729736&rtpof=true&sd=true
Download the link for the Google slide product.
Have access to the internet and a Google account. ( FREE) If you haven’t created a free Google
account, you will have to do that before beginning the project. Each student will need their own
account if they will be working on their own interactive project using Google Slides.
1. Open the file on your own Google account and engage whilst your are in the edit mode.
2. **VERY IMPORTANT** Before you begin editing/filling in your digital file journal, it is very
important that you first SAVE A COPY of the file on your own Google Drive and then edit the
COPY. You do not want to edit the original file.
3. Each page of the template has a text box where the children are instructed to Type Here. Your
students can add their own text box too, if necessary. A few slides will require clicking and
dragging and inserting colour.
4. Where there are additional instructions for using Google slides, the children will see this in red
text on the slide.
MICROSOFT ONE DRIVE USERS
1. Go to the shared link that you received in your product file. This link will bring you to the
digital file. Open Google SLIDES file.
2. From the menu, go to FILE – Download as – Microsoft PowerPoint(.pptx)
3. You will need to download the file to your own computer before the next step.
4. Open your One Drive. Create a folder for your new digital Exhibition Journal.
5. This step is recommended to keep your students organised.
6. From the menu, select UPLOAD – FILES .
7. You can drag and drop the file from your computer or select the file and upload it.
8. Your digital journal will be ready to be shared with your students from the upload. Be sure to
open it to ensure it is in good working order before presenting it to your class.
9. Instruct your users to interact with the booklet in EDIT MODE. This allow them to add their
own text and move pieces.
10. The user will be instructed to choose EDIT THE FILE in PowerPoint or online.
11. Select ONLINE. It will then open in a browser. Follow the usual steps in sharing the file with
your students. Go to SHARE –SHARE WITH PEOPLE.
Choose the option to VIEW ONLY. Then have the children make a copy on their own drive before
editing the file. This ensures they do not edit YOUR file.

Teachers’ Notes: Suggestions for Use
You can find a chart for daily and also weekly goals. There are multiple uses for this
chart or poster. To begin, allow me to explain how it came to be.
**Each slide is a PNG that can be added to your digital platform. I used these with
Google Jamboard during our distance learning reflections. **
PYP Exhibition: I originally designed this as a tool to keep track of my grade 5
Exhibition students. Within the Exhibition, we have groups working together and
they each have to reflect on their daily experience through this 6 week journey. Our
focus was on the attributes of being a learner throughout this Exhibition. This chart
allowed me to keep track of the Learner Profile goals that the children were focusing
on for that day. I could then observe their actions, confer with them about how they
were putting this attribute into practice, assist them with their reflections and
monitor their progress. If you are looking for guidance through the PYP Exhibition,
you can read this article here, with videos to help.
You may also be interested in my resources that support and guide through every
step of the Exhibition. Take a look here.
Reflection Journals: Since then, I have used it as part
of our daily reflection journals. These journals consist of
short reflection activities that all focus on skills related
to each of the Learner Profile attributes. Once I had
modelled the routine of daily reflection and the
expectations, the children were then able to choose
their own daily reflection from their journal. This chart
allowed me to follow which attribute the kids were choosing for their
focus for that day/week.
With the same intentions as above, I was more able to follow up, support,
monitor and offer feedback with the children as to their progress.
I now have those Reflection Journals for each level of learners: Early
Years, Little Kids and Big Kids. Just click the links to explore further.
Exit Slips Reflection: This chart offered the children a place to add their
voice with regards to quick reflections at the end of a day, at the end of
an activity or the beginning of a day. We then used those exit slip
reflections as prompts for our morning meetings/end of the day pow-
wows, guided group conferences etc.
Teachers’ Notes:
• When printing for poster size, open as Adobe
PDF and select print.
• Select the only the page you wish to print.
• Select TILE SCALE 250%.
• Select POSTER size
• I prefer to select CUT MARKS since it
gives me guidance where to cut, but this is
not necessary.
• Be sure you have PORTRAIT
ORIENTATION selected.
• Once printed, you will then be able to put
the pieces together to create a poster.
• I like to glue it onto chart paper and hang
in my classroom for easy access.
