Hiring Manager: Good morning, and thank you for coming in today.
Can you please introduce yourself and
tell me a little bit about your background?
Bernadette: Good morning. My name is Bernadette Arboleda, and I am a recent graduate with a Bachelor of
Science in Accountancy from City College of Calamba. Also, I am a certified public accountant, having
obtained my license from the Professional Regulation Commission in March of 2026. During my time in
university, I completed a 6-month internship at Thompson and Associates Firm in Manila, where I was able to
gain hands-on experience in preparing financial statements and reports, conducting data analysis, preparing and
filing tax returns, participating in client meetings, and contributing to audits.
Hiring Manager: That's great. Can you tell me more about your skills and what sets you apart from other
applicants?
Bernadette: Of course. I have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, as well as
knowledge of financial statement analysis. Additionally, I am proficient in using accounting software such as
QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. Communication and interpersonal skills are essential in this field, and I am
confident in my ability to effectively communicate with clients and team members. I am able to work efficiently
and accurately under pressure, with tight deadlines, and have a strong attention to detail, which helps me
maintain the highest level of accuracy in all work I perform. I also have effective project management skills,
and I am able to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
Hiring Manager: That's impressive. Can you tell me about a time when you had to use your project
management skills to meet a tight deadline?
Bernadette: Yes, I remember during my internship, there was a client who required a complete financial
analysis within a week. I worked with a team of three to gather all the necessary information, analyze the data,
and prepare a comprehensive report for the client. We were able to meet the tight deadline, and the client was
very pleased with the outcome.
Hiring Manager: That's great to hear. Can you tell me about a time when you had to handle a difficult situation
with a client?
Bernadette: Sure. During my internship, I had a client who was not satisfied with the results of their financial
analysis. I listened to their concerns and worked with my team to address the issue and provide additional
information and clarification. Through effective communication and a commitment to finding a solution, we
were able to resolve the issue and maintain a positive relationship with the client.
Hiring Manager: That's a great example of your interpersonal and communication skills. Thank you for
sharing. Is there anything else you would like to add or any questions you have for us?
Bernadette: Thank you for the opportunity to share my experiences and qualifications with you. I am very
interested in this position and am excited about the opportunity to use my skills and knowledge to contribute to
the success of the company. I do have a couple of questions about the company's growth and development
opportunities for employees.
Hiring Manager: Of course, we are always looking for ways to help our employees grow and develop
professionally. We offer training and development programs, as well as opportunities for advancement within
the company. Thank you for your interest in our company, and we will be in touch soon.
