INT: HOUSE PARTY – NIGHT
INT: LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
A group of friends are drinking and enjoying themselves at a
house party. Quick montage shots of characters drinking and
goofing around, flashing colourful lights, loud party music.
Cuts to a lonely cup sitting on the side with emphasis of it
being suspicious.
Camera slowly pans out revealing a black hooded figure looking
at it with an over the shoulder shot of the cup. Music has
faded at this point to create uneasiness.
Cuts back to group of friends partying with music back on but
not as loud.
BARRY
Be right back boys, let me just get another drink.
ED
All right hurry up bro.
INT: KITCHEN - NIGHT
Low-angle, over the shoulder and POV shots of BARRY slowly
stumbling towards the kitchen. He gets to the kitchen, looks
around for a bit and then locks eyes with a cup sitting on the
side. BARRY grins and happily, strolls towards it, grabs it
and starts downing it. The effects are instant. Over the
shoulder shot of BARRY heavily stumbling through the house
bumping into doorways and walls. Camera has a blurry affect.
BARRY
Guys… g-g-guys?
BARRY passes out before reaching his friends.
BLACK SCREEN
Everything blacks out with occasional blinking of BARRY
revealing significant things like being dragged and chucked in
the boot etc.
SOUND EFFECTS:
Car door opening
Body dropping in boot
Car door slamming
Car driving
Car stopping, footsteps, boot opening
Body getting dragged across ground
Everything blacks out with no more blinking.
INT: DIRTY, GLOOMY, EMPTY ROOM – DAY
POV shot of BARRY blinking to wake up (black screen to shot of
empty room).
BARRY
Hello?
BARRY slowly gathers his surrounding by exploring the room and
viewing each square inch of the walls around him. After trying
the locked doors and realising there’s no way out, panic
begins to strike him.
BARRY
HELLOOO? Please is anybody there? Help meee!
KIDNAPPER
Hello Barry.
BARRY
(Gasp)
Whose there!
Footsteps come from all around BARRY which freaks him out and
he falls back onto the benches.
BARRY
(Scared)
Who are you? How do you know who I am? Let me out of here!
The KIDNAPPER suddenly appears through a hole in the door. He
is tall and wearing full black clothes, black hood, and black
mask.
The KIDNAPPER stares into BARRYS eyes. BARRY storms over
towards the door and starts frantically trying to
hit and bang on it to free himself.
BARRY
Let me out now!
The KIDNAPPER remains unfazed standing dead still staring at
BARRY.
KIDNAPPER
You need to calm down BARRY. The more energy you use up, the
sooner you will die. Enjoy your stay. (Evil laugh)
BARRY
God damn it!
Is this some kind of sick joke?
Let me out right now.
The KIDNAPPER is seen disappearing from the window of the
door. BARRY slumps against the wall with his hands against his
head and looks distressed. He then falls asleep lying on the
bench.
KIDNAPPER
Wakey Wakey Barry, I have got something for you.
The KIDNAPPER opens the door slightly and slides a piece of
bread on a plate towards BARRY. BARRY reluctantly grasps the
bread and swiftly starts eating it.
The KIDNAPPER then leaves. BARRY continues eating his bread
but then stops and realises something (looks up at the door
and rubs his chin with a courageous look).
Fades out to indicate changing of time to later that day.
KIDNAPPER
It’s dinner time BARRY, and then it’s time to get to work.
(Evil laugh)
As the KIDNAPPER is laughing, he opens the door to slide the
plate on the floor but before he can put it on the floor,
BARRY shoves him against the wall and punches him in the face
and runs out of the room.
KIDNAPPER
Hey get back here!
BARRY stumbles through the building frantically trying to find
a way out.
He eventually finds a door, pushes himself against and runs
away into the forest.
As BARRY is running through the forest trying to get away he
suddenly hears the KIDNAPPER shout.
KIDNAPPER
BARRY! I am coming for you.
BARRY realises he needs to find somewhere to hide so starts
looking for places to hide himself.
POV shots of BARRY looking left and right in a hurry.
BARRYS face lights up as he finds a spot and quietly goes
towards it.
Camera cuts to KIDNAPPER looking for BARRY and switches
between him and BARRY looking at KIDNAPPER while hiding.
KIDNAPPER stops for a moment looks around and shouts.
KIDNAPPER
Damn it!
KIDNAPPER kicks the ground in frustration.
Over the shoulder shot of BARRY looking at the KIDNAPPER as he
walks back up through the forest towards the room.
BARRY walks away trying to find his way home.
Screen blacks out with ‘TO BE CONTINUED’ appearing on the
screen.
