Section A (Reading)
Q.1 Read the following passage and answer the Questions. (Marks10)

The emperor’s palace in China was the most splendid in the world. His gardens
were the loveliest in the world. They were full of the most beautiful flowers beyond
the garden was a stately forest with great big trees and deep blue lakes. The forest
went a down to the sea, which was a clear crystal blue.

Large ships sailed under the trees of sloping forest. In the branches of these trees
lived a little nightingale. The little nightingale sang so beautifully that even the bust
Fisherman stopped his work and listened and said,” How beautiful it is!”

Many travellers came to the emperor’s court and they were astonished at how lovely
everything was! Then they heard the nightingale and they said, “That is the loveliest
of all! “

Poets wrote about, the beauty of the nightingale song. The emperor soon came to
know that he had a little bird in his garden, which was even more famous and written
about than he was!
