RATIONALE:

Learning doesn’t only exist in the four corners of the classroom. It extends
outside where learners process things learned. A child’s holistic development is a
combination of social, mental, physical, and spiritual aspects. This means that a
classroom itself cannot provide all the needs of a child learner to become holistic.
This requires a learner to learn new things outside the classroom through
engagement and experiencing real-life situation activities.

With these premises, the Division Mathematics Olympics is designed as

one activity that will help our learners learn new things that cannot be
experienced by them inside the classroom.

II. OBJECTIVES:

1. Enhance analytical and mathematical skills

2. Develop problem solving skills
3. Experience real life situation activities
4. Promote quality mathematics education

III. Mechanics and General Guidelines:

1. The Division Mathematics Olympics is conducted regularly once a year.

2. The Division Mathematics Olympics has seven (7) events namely;
a. Individual Written/Oral Quiz (Student Category)
b. Speed Cubing
c. Sudoku Competition
d. Demonstration Teaching
e. Search for Best Numeracy Initiative
f. MR & MS MATH WIZARD, and
g. Damath

3. This division competition can be participated in by both public and private

schools of the eleven (11) municipalities within the province of Sultan
Kudarat.
4. Each event shall have only one coach who is a teacher duly recognized by
the district/cluster.
5. Coaches or teachers are prohibited from entering the contest area so as
not to disrupt the proceedings of the contest.
6. There will NO ranking for the 2022 Division Mathematics Olympics in
general.

Speed cubing enables students to develop their patience - to have fun time
learning how to solve a Rubik’s Cube. Memorization- which enables them to learn
new algorithms to solve the cube and memorize sequences. Spatial reasoning -

CLASS DEMONSTRATION TEACHING

I. RATIONALE

Face-to-Face Classes

Face-to-face learning is an instructional method where the course

content and learning material are taught in person to a group of students.
This allows for live interaction between a learner and an instructor. It is
the most traditional type of learning instruction. Learners benefit from a
greater level of interaction with their fellow students as well. In face-to-face
learning, students are held accountable for their progress at the class’s
specific meeting date and time. Face-to-face learning ensures a better
understanding and recollection of lesson content and gives class members
a chance to bond with one another. (https://tophat.com/glossary/f/face-
