The focus of Social Psychology is the social influence. Objectives of Project The objectives of this project are as follows: To understand the different persuasion tactics and why do we conform to the norms. To become more aware of the different social influence. To be able to apply the concepts in their life. Learning Outcomes of this Project Able to apply persuasion tactics to their personal lives and that of others. Able to better understand themselves better and their interactions with others in terms of psychology.
Tasks - Methodology You should carefully explain the event or experience (so that I understand what is going on), and then give evidence to support why this illustrates a social psychological concept. In other words, the beginning of your entry should describe the situation/event in detail. A thoughtful application of social psychological principle to that situation/event should follow, including an explanation of the principle. You can choose to write either 1 or 2 entries. The report should consist of THREE double-spaced pages (maximum 4 pages). You need to incorporate concepts (at least 3 concepts) which were discussed throughout Chapter 6 Attitude & Persuasion (Part 1 & 2) The examples provided should base on your real life experience instead of making it up.

On the day you of submission, there will be an oral examination whereby you will need to briefly explain your mind map/comic and I will ask you questions on the chapter. Project 3: Group Assignment Due: Week 17 Introduction As the semester goes, you will be able to learn quite a lot of psychological concepts. It is important to be able to apply the concepts in real life. This assignment requires you (as a group) to direct a clip which applies as many social psychological concepts as possible. Objectives of Project The objectives of this project are as follows: To recognize and identify the connections among concepts and perspectives within psychology and with other disciplines. To understand themselves better and their interactions with others in terms of psychology. To engage in psychological inquiry and become self-regulated learners. Learning Outcomes of this Project Able to understand and integrate various concepts to produce a clip. Able to apply the right psychological concept to the event.
Tasks - Methodology When you have learnt enough of concepts, by week 8 you should be able to start planning on how to do this assignment. There will be three tasks for this group assignment: Task 1: Role plays (20%) As a group, you need to make a video clip by incorporating the concepts that you learned in class. There should be a story line in your video clip instead of just acting out few scenes. At the end of the clip, there is a section where you need to inform the students on what are the concepts being covered in the clip. The clip should be approximately 10 to 15 minutes. You have the freedom to choose any topics or incorporate few chapters. Please include at least 6 concepts. Remember you have to be creative! Grading: Clarity: 10 marks Creativity: 10 marks Concepts: 10 marks Peer Evaluation: 5 marks Title of the clip: 5 marks Total: 40 marks convert to 20% Task 2: Report (10%) Based on the clip, as a group you need to write a report. There will be FOUR sections in your report: Section 1: Introduce the clip by telling me what each of you did for the clip and provide the story line. Section 2: Write up the process of filming the clip includes the problems that you have faced while filming it. Section 3: Explain the concepts applied in the clip. Section 4: A short message by each group members about how you feel about this assignment (should appear on the last page of your report).
