3. ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES

The academic activities of CIPET are categorized in to ‘4 Categories’ as per the Human Resource requirement
of Indian Plastic Industries and to provide employment opportunities to the youth.

• Doctoral, Postgraduate & Undergraduate Programs are high – ended Programs conducted at
High Learning Centres (HLCs).

• Conventional CIPET’s Diploma, Post Diploma and Post Graduate Diploma Programs at Other
Learning Centres (OLCs).

• Skill Development Programmes / Vocational Training Programmes.

• Industry Specific Programs.

The UG, PG & Doctoral programmes at HLCs are being offered at Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bhubaneswar, Lucknow
& Kochi in affiliation with respective State Universities.

The admission for the UG & PG programs are carried out through the respective affiliated Universities of the
State and the admission for Diploma, Post Diploma & PG Diploma courses for the academic year 2013-14 was
successfully conducted on 14th July, 2013 across the country at 34 centres and the academic session for the year
2013-14 commenced on 12th August, 2013 as per the data furnished below:-

To the Members of
CENTRAL INSTITUTE OF PLASTICS ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY:

We have audited the attached Balance Sheet of M/s. CENTRAL INSTITUTE OF PLASTICS ENGINEERING &
TECHNOLOGY, Chennai as at 31.03.2014 and also the Income & Expenditure Account for the year ended on that date
annexed thereto. These financial statements are the responsibility of the Society’s Governing Council. Our responsibility is
to express an opinion on these financial statements based on our audit.

We conducted our audit in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in India. Those standards required that
we plan and perform the audit to obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements are free of material
misstatement. An audit includes examining, on test basis, evidence supporting the amounts and disclosures in the financial
statements. An audit also includes assessing the accounting principles used and significant estimates made by management,
as well as evaluating the overall financial statement presentation. We believe that our audit provides a reasonable basis for
our opinion.

In our opinion, proper books of accounts as required by the rules and regulations of the Memorandum of Association of
the Institute have been maintained so far as it appears from our examination of the same. Subject to the notes on accounts
enclosed, we report that:

1. The Balance Sheet and Income & Expenditure Account referred to in this report are in agreement with the Books of
Accounts.

2. We have obtained all the information and explanations, which to the best of our knowledge and belief were necessary
for the purpose of our audit.

3. In our opinion and the best of our information and according to the explanations given to us, the said accounts read
with the notes give a true and fair view:

(i) In the case of the Balance Sheet, the state of affairs of the Institute as at 31.03.2014.
AND
(ii) In the case of the Income and Expenditure Account, of the excess of Income over Expenditure for the year ended
on that date.
