Online Restaurant Management System

This document outlines a proposed online restaurant management and food delivery system called FOODIE GO. It analyzes the existing manual restaurant system and identifies drawbacks like difficulty searching for items and lack of online ordering. The proposed FOODIE GO system would allow online ordering, payment, and home delivery of food items. A feasibility analysis found the system would be economically, technically, and socially feasible to develop. The system would have administration and user modules to manage products, orders, and customer feedback.

1. INTRODUCTION
𝙁𝙊𝙊𝘿𝙄𝙀 𝙂𝙊 is designed for a particular
restaurant specialising in ordering food
items from online. This project aims to
explore the intersection of online food
delivery and restaurant management
system and how they can work together to
create a seamless and satisfying
experience for both customers and
owners by analysing the benefits and
challenges, we hope to propose innovative
solutions that enhance efficiency, quality
and profitability in restaurant industry.

2 . SYSTEM ANALYSIS
It is the process of collecting and
interpreting facts, identifying the
problems and decomposition of a system
into its components:

System analysis is conducted for the

purpose of studying a system or its parts
in order to identify

its objectives, It is a problem solving

technique that improves the system and
ensures that all the

components of the system work efficiently

to accomplish their purpose.
2.1 .Existing System
The existing system of food items selling
stores is based on manual processing. The
customers need to visit the store manually
to purchase food which is very much time
consuming and not efficient.
DRAWBACKS OF THE EXISTING SYSTEM
• Difficulty in searching for products.
• Limited description of the food items
• Time consuming.
• Less user-friendly.
• Difficult for distant customers.

2.2 .Proposed System

The proposed system allows users to buy

food items according to their wish from
anywhere, anytime online. So it is very fast
and efficient. The admin has control over
the system. Admin can add, delete, edit
and update the products. Users can view a
wide variety of products and can buy. The
ordered products are also delivered to the
user's address.

ADVANTAGES OF THE PROPOSED SYSTE

• Comfortable shopping anywhere,
anytime.
• Time saving.
• User-friendly.
• Wide variety of products.
• Feedback page for users.
• More descriptive product pages.
• Home delivery.
• Order tracking.
MODULE DESCRIPTION
The most creative and challenging phase
of the system development is system
design. It provides the understanding and
procedural details necessary for
implementing the system recommended
in the feasibility study. Design goes
through the logical and physical stages of
development.

The System has 2 modules.

• Administration
• User Management

a) Administration - The process of

administration modules includes:
1)Product management
The product management includes
adding, deleting, editing and
updating the product in the
database. This also includes
categorizing the products according
to various factors like brands, price
etc. so the users can view the
products of their preference.
2)Delivery management
The delivery management includes
the handling of the orders placed by
the users Approval and the updates
of an order is managed. Admin can
also view the user's feedback about
products to improve the system.

b) User Management - The user can view

available items and their details. New
users can register into the system and can
login to it. After registration they can
perform different activities which include:

1) Order management:
Users can add products to cart, delete and
update the quantity of items in the cart
and place order later. They can track the
status of the placed order.

2)Feedback:
The customers can send feedbacks and
suggestions regarding products

3. Feasibility Study
A feasibility study is undertaken to
determine the possibility or probability of
either improving the existing system or
developing a completely new system it
helps obtain an overview of the problem
and to get a rough assessment of whether
a feasible solution exists. This is essential
to avoid committing large resources to a
project

• Need for Feasibility Study

• The feasibility study is need to

Answer the question whether a new

system is to be installed or not?
Determine the potential of the existing
system.

Improve the existing system.

Know what should be embedded in the
new system.

Define the problems and objectives

involved in a system.
Avoid costly repairs at a later stage when
the system is implemented. Avoid crash
implementations of a new system.

3.1. Economic feasibility

The Economic Feasibility setup of business
development is that period during which a
break-even financial model of the business
venture is developed based on all costs
associated with taking the product from
idea to market and achieving sales
sufficient to satisfy debt on investment
requirements.

𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙚 𝙜𝙤 has much influence on the

economic side. Existing system is not at all
safe in pandemic situations. 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙚 𝙜𝙤
eliminates such problems. Maintenance of
Computerized systems are cheap
nowadays. As the proposed system will
allow the customers to shop using their
fingertip they will go for it instead of the
existing system. So 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙚 𝙜𝙤 is
economically feasible.

3.2. Technical Feasibility

The Technical Feasibility current resources
both hardware and software along with
required technology are analysed or
assessed to develop the project. This
technical feasibility study reports whether
there exists correct required resources
and technologies which will be used for
project development.

We can strongly say 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙚 𝙜𝙤 is

technically feasible, since there will not be
much difficulty in getting required
resources needed for the development
and maintaining the system as well. All the
resources needed for the development of
the software as well as the maintenance
of the same are available, here we are
utilizing the resources which are available
already. The configuration of hardware
and software systems are also feasible.

3.3. Social feasibility

Social Feasibility is a detailed study on

how one interacts with others within a
system or an organization. Social Impact
analysis is an exercise aimed at identifying
and analyzing such impacts in order to
understand impacts the scale and reach of
the project's social impacts.

The hierarchy of the new system is much

easier to handle than the existing system.
𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙚 𝙜𝙤 provides a user-friendly
environment so that the user can interact
with the application more reliably and
reduce their hard step. As it is online it can
be accessed even from remote places.

Therefore 𝙁𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙚 𝙜𝙤 is socially feasible.

4.CONCLUSION

By analysing the existing system we found

there were some drawbacks, to overcome
these drawbacks we introduce this
proposed system. We defined different
modules in the proposed system by
feasibility study we find that the proposed
system is technically, socially and
economically feasible. So we are planning
to go ahead to the design phase of our
project.
