Internet is a network which
provides different kinds of facilities information and
connectivity. It is a global computer network where
people can communicate with their customers,
producers, relatives etc. There are many sources of
internet which one can use; some are mobile
networks, WI-FI, hotspot, broadband, cable etc.
These are easily available and
easy to use its speed may vary from each other
because of the availability of the respective towers of
network service provider and also from the types of
networks like 2G,3G,4G,5G.
Internet is a worldwide network
which connect all the computers throughout the
world and help them to communicate with each
other.HISTORY
The history of internet goes back to nineteens. The first
question that pops into your mind is probably “Who started
the internet?”. The internet was developed by Bob Kahn
and Vint Cerf in the 1970s. they began the design of what
we today know as the “INTERNET”. It was the result of
another research experiment which was called ARPANET,
which stands for Advanced Research Projects Agency
Network. This was initially supposed to be a
communications system for the Defence Team of the United
States of America — a network that would also survive a
nuclear attack. It is believed that on 6 August 1991, when
the World Wide Web opened to the public.
«Father of the internet: Tim Berners-Lee
-Tim Berners-Lee was the man,
who led the development of the world wide web, the
defining of HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol), HTML
(Hypertext Markup Language), used to create web pages
and URLS (Universal Resource Locater). The development of
WWW, HTTP, HTML, URLS took place between 1989 and
1991.
Tim Berners-Lee & Vinton Cerf is also named as Internet
Daddy by the world.“Evolution of the internet :-
Internet became popular in household
in the 1990s. The emergence of the internet can be
tracked by how many businesses and homes started
changing the way they worked and started connecting
their laptops and other devices to the internet.

There has been a dramatic growth in
the number of the internet users since its inception. As a
result, the number of computer networks that are
connected has grown exponentially too. It started with
only connecting less than ten computers initially.
7Today, 440 million computers can be directly, making life is
easier for people across the globe. Sharing information and
knowledge has become extremely easy for those that have
access to the internet. The country with the highest number
of internet users is China with 1.4 n users, followed by
India with 1.3 billion and the United States of America with
a little over 0.3 billion users.

© The internet is a boon in our generation today, the
internet is growing rapidly. Many people use the
internet because it gives a lot of benefits, one of the
benefits of internet is medium of information. Today, a
lot of people need the information from the internet
because it is fastest way to get the information.
Another benefit of internet is making profit online.
People take advantage of the internet as their source
of profit. And most often used benefit of the internet is
by socializing.
© The internet made our lives easier. Now, we are
watching movies online, ordering food online, paying
bills online, buying things online, studying online, etc.
¢ Because of the internet, the world has become a global
village. Now people can connect with anyone and from
anywhere in the world.
© When the world is fighting the pandemic, several
countries had to impose lockdowns. In that time,
people stayed connected through the internet and are
knowing the updates online. Without the internet, the
mental heath of many would have been affected
negatively.SOCLAL IMPACT

Electronic business (e-business)
encompasses business processes spanning the entire
value chain: purchasing, supply chain, management,
marketing, sales, customer service, and businesses
relationship. E — commerce seeks to add revenue
streams using the internet to build and enhance
relationships with client and partners. Today many e-
commerce sites have been registered in the world such
as amazon, flipkart, snapdeal, myntra, etc. helping
millions of people to get their service fast and secure.
Politics and Political Revolutions :-
The internet has achieved new relevance
as a political tool. The presidential campaign of
Howard Dean in 2004 in the United States was notable
for its success in soliciting donation via the internet.
Many political groups use the internet to achieve a
new method of organizing for carrying out their
missions, having given rise to internet activism.
Now many political parties use social media
apps to do advertisement through internet. Grow their
popularity and wins the election.

The spread of low-cost internet access in
developing countries has opened up new possibilities
for peer-to-peer charities, which allow individuals to
contribute small amounts to charitable projects for
other individuals. Websites, such as Donors choose and
Global giving, allow small-scale donors to directs funds
to individual projects of their choice.
CONCLUSION
Internet can be a boon or bane; it all depends upon
how a person is using their connection to internet.
After all internet has captured much of our life.
Wasting our time on internet makes our physical
health getting worst day by day, on the same time
internet make our life easy and fast.
