- Dùng tại 1 thời điểm cụ thể trong QK: 3 o’clock, 5 o’clock,…

- Diễn tả 1 hành động đang xảy ra (thì QKTD) trong QK thì 1 hành động khác xen
vào (thì QKĐ)

Eg: +) I was watching TV when the phone rang (Trong khi tôi đang xem TV thì
điện thoại reo)

+) She was taking shower when her mum came home (Trong khi cô ấy đang tắm

- Diễn tả 2 hành động đang xảy ra song song trong QK. (While)
