Say: Today, you will identify cause and effect of events. The graphic organizer that you have formed tells
the effects of planting trees in the environment. Let us read a dialogue about trees.

Rico: Why is it important to plant trees?


Lina: Because they give us shade?
Rico: Is it true that their roots help prevent flood?
Lina: Yes, indeed.
Rico: Trees are really awesome.
Lina: Yes, they are. They also give us lumber for our houses.
Rico: We also plant trees so we can enjoy fresh air.
Lina: That is right!
