• Expanded Form And Standard ( Short ) Form Of A Numeral

Place value – The value of a digit depends on the place where it occurs in a
number is known as place value.

Face value – The value of a digit which remains the same is known as face value.
Or
The face value of a digit is the digit itself.
Example : The face value of 6 in number 2364 is 6 ( the digit itself)

Here, the place value table is given below:

Example – Let us take a number 3285


1. The place value of each digit 3285.

The place value of 3 = 3 x 1000= 3000
