Week-1 (sep6 – sep10)


Please read the course outline an introductory video available that is available under the Content
tab for Week 1 of the course – please review the video. Please use the Planning Forum under the
Discussions tab in Brightspace designated for your team to introduce yourselves to your team
members and begin discussions about completing the work of the course. please access the first
Forum – “Forum for Team Introductions and Course Planning”). There are no Assignments or
Discussions due this week.

Week 2 – (sep11) – (sep17)


Please read Chapter 1 – Introduction to the field of organizational behavior.
Please read Chapter 2 – Individual behavior, personality, values

Class Discussion #1: Please read the case, “Promoting safe behaviour at Mother Parkers”
on pages 27-28 of the hard-copy text and answer the two questions that follow the case.
Please provide your answers to all the case questions in one post (i.e., do not provide
separate posts for each question) – please be sure to respond to any two Initial Posts or
other responses of your class members. I will assess individual participation based on your
contribution to the online discussion during this week. Please note that the opportunity to
participate in this discussion ends at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

Class-Discussion Case #2: Please respond to the three questions that follow the case,
“SNC-Lavalin Team Inc.”, on pages 54-55 of the text. I will assess individual participation
based on your contribution to the online discussion during this week. Please provide your
answers to all the case questions in one post (i.e., do not provide separate posts for each
question). Please note that the opportunity to participate in this discussion ends at 11:30
p.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2023. (DONE)

Individual Exercise #1: The Big Five Exercise is available to you as a pdf under the Content
tab for Week 2. Please follow the completion instructions on the first page of the pdf and
calculate your scores for the five personality dimensions. Then transfer your scores to the
Word document also provided under the Content tab for Week 3. This assignment must be
completed by each individual class member, and submitted to me, as a Word document,
through the appropriate Assignments tab found under Assessments on the course home
page in Brightspace – it is due by 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2023. (DONE)

Week 3 – September 18 – September 24

Please read Chapter 2 – Individual behavior, personality, values.
Please read Chapter 3 – Perceiving ourselves and others in organizations.
Class-Discussion Case #3: Please read the “Ethics dilemma vignettes” on pages 55-56
of the text (page 33 of 333 of the e-text). I will assess individual participation based on your
contribution to the online discussion during this week. Please provide your answers to all the
case questions in one post (i.e., do not provide separate posts for each question). Please
note that the opportunity to participate in this discussion ends at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday,
September 24, 2023.

Class-Discussion Case #4: Please respond to the three questions that follow the case, “Hy
Dairies Ltd” available on pages 82-83 (end of Chapter 3). I will assess individual participation
based on your contribution to the online discussion during this week. Please provide your

Class-Discussion Case #5: Please read the case, “Differing perspectives” available as a
pdf under the Content tab for Week 4 of the course on Brightspace and respond to the three
questions that follow the case. I will assess individual participation based on your
contribution to the online discussion during this week. Please provide your answers to the
case questions in one post (i.e., do not provide separate posts for each question). Please
note that the opportunity to participate in this discussion ends at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday,
October 1, 2023.

Short Team-Case Assignment #1: Please read the case, “Ancol Ltd.”, available as a pdf
under the Content tab for Week 4 of the course on Brightspace. Please complete an analysis
of the case (i.e., explain events, do not summarize them), identify the problem in the case,
and provide a recommendation to the manager, Paul Simard (i.e., what should Simard do
now?). This assignment must be written by the team, and submitted to me, by the TL, as a
Word document, through the appropriate Assignments tab found under Assessments on the
course home page in Brightspace – it is due by 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2023.

Week 5 – October 2 – October 8

Class-Discussion Case #6: Please respond to the two questions that follow the case,
“Diana’s disappointment: The promotion stumbling block” available on pages 109-110 (page
59 of 333 of the e-text). I will assess individual participation based on your contribution to the
online discussion during this week. Please provide your answers to all the case questions in
one post (i.e., do not provide separate posts for each question). Please note that the
opportunity to participate in this discussion ends at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, 2023.

Class-Discussion Case #7: Please respond to the two questions that follow the case,
“Rough seas on the LINK650” available on pages 110-111 (page 60 of 333 of the e-text). I
will assess individual participation based on your contribution to the online discussion during
this week. Please provide your answers to all the case questions in one post (i.e., do not
provide separate posts for each question). Please note that the opportunity to participate in
this discussion ends at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 8, 2023.

Class-Discussion Case #8: Please read the case, “69 Days of stress” available as a pdf
under the Content tab for Week 5 of the course on Brightspace and briefly explain the events
in the case in terms of at least three of the stress issues raised in Chapter 4. I will assess
individual participation based on your contribution to the online discussion during this week.
