Topic: SLAC ON ORIENTATION ON THE USE OF ONLINE CHATGPT APPLICATION
Objective: Provide teachers with a clear understanding of what ChatGPT technology is,
how it works, and its potential benefits for educational purposes. Explain how it utilizes
artificial intelligence to generate human-like text responses.
Summary of the Topic
Technology has become an essential component of modern education, with numerous
applications used to improve teaching and learning experiences. There are numerous
types of technology that can be used in education, each with their own set of benefits
and advantages.
An orientation for the Bo was held on March 31, 2023. Central teachers on how to use
the ChatGPT application and its educational benefits. The orientation aimed to introduce
educators to the ChatGPT application and provide information on how to effectively use
the application to enhance their teaching and learning activities.
The orientation session began with an introduction to ChatGPT, an OpenAI language
model built on the GPT-3.5 architecture. Ms. Roxanne D. Rueda, Master Teacher 1, the
facilitator, explained how the application can be used to generate human-like responses
to natural language inputs. Participants were given login information and instructions on
how to use the ChatGPT application.
Reflection:
Participating in the LAC session on the "Orientation on the Use of Online ChatGPT
Application" was an enlightening experience, especially due to the master teacher who
facilitated the session. The insights gained from their coaching and mentoring have left a
lasting impact on my understanding of utilizing online tools effectively in education.
The master teacher's approach to coaching and mentoring was both encouraging and
insightful. They seamlessly guided us through the intricacies of the ChatGPT application,
fostering an environment of curiosity and exploration. Their ability to break down
complex concepts into understandable components enabled participants like me, with
varying levels of technological proficiency, to grasp the functionality of the tool.
During the session, the master teacher emphasized the importance of hands-on learning.
Their method of engaging us in interactive activities and encouraging experimentation
with the ChatGPT application truly enhanced the learning experience. This approach not
only demystified the technology but also instilled confidence in using it as an
educational resource.
What stood out most during the session was the master teacher's patience and
willingness to address individual queries and concerns. Their attentive and empathetic
approach created a safe space for participants to express uncertainties and seek
clarifications. This personal touch made the session feel tailored to our needs, ultimately
enriching our learning journey.
