2 PUBLIC Content
1 Replicating Time Data from Employee
Central to ERP HCM

The purpose of this guide is to assist with the replication of Time data from SAP SuccessFactors Employee
Central to an SAP ERP on-premise system using SAP Cloud Platform Integration as the middleware.
Configuration steps and field mappings provided by this Best Practices solution are delivered to jumpstart
the replication process.

The guide is primarily intended for the core hybrid deployment option. Core hybrid deployment option means
that Employee Central is used as the system of record holding all organizational data, but existing processes
such as Payroll or custom HR processes still run in an SAP ERP HCM on-premise system landscape.

3 Prerequisites

Before setting up the migration, ensure that the following system landscapes are in place:

1. SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central tenant

2. SAP Cloud Platform account
3. SAP Cloud Platform Integration tenant
4. SAP Cloud Connector
5. SAP ERP HCM system

Ensure the technical integration details that are explained in detail under Technical Integration Settings guide
are in place. Refer to the section CPI Configuration for Replication of Time Data from SuccessFactors
Employee Central to ERP HCM in the Technical Integration Settings guide.

Along with what is mentioned above, ensure that the role SAP_HR_TIM_EC_REPL has been assigned to the
Technical ERP User (SF_COMM) as described in the Technical Integration Settings guide.

 Note

The following business functions are meant for EC Payroll which also supports time replication. These
switches should be turned off so that the ERP HCM Time Replication does not run in conflict.

• HCM_SFEC_MDEC2HR
• HCM_SFEC_TDEC2HR
• HCM_SBP_PYC_1

Along with the items above, ensure that you have activated the Best Practices packages, mentioned below in
your Employee Central instance.

4 Activation of Content

The Best Practices content is shipped as Business Configuration Sets as part of the PA_SE_IN component,
however they are not active by default. In order to activate and see the configuration content, perform the
following steps:

OPTION 1

1. Log on to the SAP ERP HCM system.

2. Enter transaction code SA38 - ABAP Program Execution for running reports.
3. Execute the report RP_SBP_ECPAO_ACTIVATE_TIME.
4. Checkbox Overwrite values: It is recommended to check this box for the first activation, since you do not
have any values that can be over-written.
5. Checkbox Test Mode: This can be used to simulate the execution prior to its first activation.
6. Logs: After the execution, click the Back button to view the BC set activations log.

As a result of the execution of the program, the SAP Best Practices content for time replication is automatically
activated. The configuration is inserted into appropriate IMG activities which are described in detail in the
subsequent sections of this guide. Together with some manual steps (Section Overview of Manual Activities to
be Performed [page 7]), you may be ready to run the EC-ERP replication for Time.

If you need to modify/adapt the SAP Best Practices content, for example, for modifying time types in Employee
Central instance, refer to section Adaptations [page 9] .

OPTION 2

1. Log on to the SAP ERP HCM system.

2. Enter transaction code SCPR3 for running BC Sets.
3. Choose the button New BC Set Selection which will open a drop-down menu. In this drop-down menu,
choose Select by Attributes. Enter SBP_EC_ERP_TIME_CONFIG in the window that popped up and choose
Execute. You can now select the BC Set by double-clicking on it.
4. Choose GoTo in the uppermost menu bar and choose Activation Transaction in the drop down menu. There
is now a button called Activate BC Set which can be chosen to activate the BC Set. After having done so,
