Keystone Exam.

Required Materials:

Students will need a

 3-ring notebook to keep and organize handouts and take notes.

 Lab Notebook (provided)
 Pencil

Course Topics:

 Basic Biological Principles

 Evolution
 Ecology
 Environmental Biology
 Biochemistry
 Structure and Function of Cells
 Cell Transport
 Bioenergetics
 Cell Growth & Reproduction
 Molecular Biology
 Genetics

Assignments:
Students will be responsible for reading each chapter carefully and
completing vocabulary. The primary reason for this assignment is to keep up
with the reading and prepare for topics to be covered in class lectures and
discussions. Homework and quizzes will be assigned as needed, and will
reinforce the lessons.
Biology is a lab class, and therefore students will be required to learn the
process of writing APA Style Laboratory Reports.
Unit tests will be taken very seriously and may cover more than one
chapter at a time. Study guides will be provided, but studying should not be
limited to the night before if a student wishes to perform above average.
Periodically, long-term projects will be assigned. A rubric will be provided to
ensure the proper requirements are met.

Grades:
Grades are calculated by a point system. Each grade is assigned a
particular number of points. Your total number of points earned is divided by
total number of possible points.
Late work is unacceptable and NO credit will be awarded for late work.
Late work includes: incomplete, at home or in locker, thus resulting in NO
credit. Late lab reports will receive half credit for one day late and zero credit for
2+ days late. Excused absences or extended absences will be discussed on an
individual basis.
