Borah, N., (2023). Conducted a study about Age-specific variation of body mass and
lipid reserves in Periplaneta americana (Blattodea: Blattidae). Periplaneta americana (L.)
(Blattodea: Blattidae) is considered to be a domestic pests Bell and Adiyodi, (1982). Out
of 30 species which are associated with human habitat. The BM and L of both female
and male P. americana showed positive correlation. The concept that females with BM
over the 'threshold generate healthier ootheca with heavier offspring was substantiated
by positive and very significant correlations between the female BM and ootheca
number (ON) (r=0.743) and BM and ootheca mass (OM) (r = 0.747). The cockroaches
utilised in these tests were reared at 28 3°C, 70 to 85% relative humidity, and 12:12 L in
the Physiology Laboratory of the Department of Entomology at the Assam Agricultural
University in Jorhat, Assam, India. The study the correlation between adult BM and LR,
30 adult cockroaches of a speci c age were selected randomly, and subjected to lipid
estimation by the method described by Folch et al. (1957).In Table 1 and Fig., the age-
related variation of the mean ( SEM) BM of adult male and female P. americana during
the first 100 days of life is shown. 1. Males' BMs varied from 0.87 to 1.24 g, while
females' BMs ranged from 1.23 to 1.43 g. Adult males' BM was 1.11 0.03 g on day 5, the
day the first mating occurred, and it subsequently decreased to 0.87 0.03 g by day 30.
But after that, male BM grew up until day 40 and then fluctuated between 1.20 and 1.24
g over the course of the next 60 days. After day 75, when the seventh ootheca was
deposited, a drop in BM of the females was once more noted. Insects' BM typically
drops following egg deposition; this is a regular occurrence, also observed by Alamer
and Hoffman (2013) in case of Blaptica dubia Serville (Dictyoptera: Blaberidae). The
increase in BM is largely due to the increase in the LR and the females contain more
lipids than males.

Corcoran (2018) conducted a study about effect of technology. the participants were
students who used tablet apps. the findings were conclusion that the usage of tablet
apps during reading instruction had a statistically significant impact on student
progress. the author suggested that technology can have a positive impact on students
as it provides students with access to a wealth of information and improve student
engagement, motivation, and learning outcomes (Costley, 2014) but too much
dependence on it can cause negative impacts to their academic performance and it was
proven by the paper of Chaudhury & Tripathy (2018), where they investigate the effects
of too much dependence on technology of students.

ildefrawy, B.M.; Said, Saadiya M. and A. M. Abd El-Raheem (2022). Conducted a studying
about, Comparative studies of nanoparticles and ethanol extract of rosemary plant on
some biochemical aspects of the American cockroach Periplaneta americana. This
study was carried out at Economic Entomology & Agricultural Zoology Department,
Faculty of Agriculture, Menoufia University, Egypt. Leaves of rosemary (Rosemaryinus
officinalis L.). were collected from the farm of the Faculty of Agriculture in Shebin El-
Koum. Averages for the contact, feeding, and control groups were 13.81, 19.64, and
14.31 (mg/g.b.wt), respectively. A considerable rise was seen when the feeding approach
was used, but a decrease was seen when the contact technique was used. The
acetylcholinesterase enzymes' activity revealed a The averages for contact, feeding,
and control, respectively, were 241, 278 and 211.5 (g AchBr/min /g.b.wt). This is a
considerable increase compared to the control when both treatment modalities were
used. The current study also showed that feeding rather than contact application of
nanoparticles of rosemary extract increased their efficacy. This might be because
nanoparticles can enter the alimentary canal more quickly than they can enter the
exoskeleton of an insect using the contact method. These results suggest that rosemary
extract nanoparticles can be utilised as effective natural controls and environmentally
benign substitutes for chemical pesticides against Periplaneta americana both in
nymphal and adult stages.
