Member 3 (I could read his badge, he was a Professor)
Q. What led you to do M.A. in Anthropology after B. Tech?
Q. By focussing on beautiful species like Tiger, lion, cheetah, etc are we doing partiality towards
other animals?

(As I'm just about to answer, Shukla sir accidently played a youtube video on his PC )

Q. I'm very confused with these terms, can you tell me what are Umbrella species
Q. I'm still confused, now tell me what are Flagship species
Q. I'm again confused, now tell me what are Keystone species
Q. You mentioned ecological niche, could you explain it?
Q. Long monologue describing some technology and in the end asked if I could identify the
technology (it was remote sensing)
Q. Again a monologue and some q in the end. I asked for clarification if he wanted me to
explain the working principle of remote sensing to which he said yes
Q. Examples of softwares using remote sensing used in forestry
———————

By now I was expecting that it would be the turn of member 4 to ask Qs. But I heard the words
"thank you" from the chairperson.
Untill then I had not even realised that there was an extra member in the panel (he was Shri
Bidyut Bihari Swain)!
———————

Overall experience:
The board is very cordial and all members listen to the answers keenly.
Members give signs of appreciation for good points.
Carefully listening to the monologues is very important to understand what exactly is the
question. Most of the times the monologue starts with a Q and by the end of the monologue the
demand of the Q has been totally changed.

progressing. What is your stand. ?

What issues people are facing now. ?
Asked about work profile. How much Cairn is contributing to Indian economy.
Oil sector issues

field )
So you live in Rajasthan, Don't you think there are too much focus on Tiger and Great Indian

efforts for GIB ?
What population ?
Any success in conservation? etc
Have you heard of Dolphin ?
Where it is found , what is the speciality.
Is it a fish , a insect ...What is it..?
