Public Education System in Pakistan: An Exploration Into Major Problems

This article explores the major problems in Pakistan's public education system at the primary level. The researchers interviewed 8 primary school teachers in Lahore to identify the key issues. The main themes that emerged were infrastructure, availability of resources, school discipline, and issues with implementing curricula. The teachers reported that basic facilities like school buildings and fans were available, but there was a lack of things like electric water coolers and school grounds. The findings validated those of an earlier quantitative study, highlighting gaps in facilities and resources as ongoing problems in Pakistan's public primary education system.
