1. PROJECT BACKGROUND
UniSZA Health Centre (PKU)
UniSZA Health Centre (PKU) is a medical institution that services
all UniSZA students and staff. It primarily focuses on giving early
treatment for common ailments such as fever, stomachache, small cuts,
and more. Additionally, students and staff can speak with a medical
assistant and receive the necessary drugs. Students are currently forced
to fill out a form every time they seek assistance from a medical assistant
or purchase medication. Furthermore, all medication details for pupils are
manually documented, necessitating the medical assistant to manually
search for a student's previous health centre records. To address these
concerns, the MyUniSZA Healthcare system is developed. Students are
obliged to register their information under this system, and on their visits
to PKU, they only need to present their matriculation number. This
reduces the need for students to continually enter their information.
Registration in the system allows medical assistants to conveniently enter
a student's matriculation number as well as medication and health details.
They can also readily retrieve information from the system. This
methodical approach benefits both medical assistants and students.
2. CURRENT PROBLEMS
a. The process for booking an appointment is tedious and time
consuming.
As previously stated, UniSZA students and staff must manually fill
out a form with their information each time they come. The data will
then have to be manually entered into the system by a member of
the healthcare team.
b. High Student Volume.
UniSZA health centres usually serve a large student population,
leading to lengthy wait times for appointments. Implementing a
streamlined online booking system with specific time slots can
effectively reduce wait times and allow students to organise
appointments around their own schedules.
c. Staff and students do not know the extent of services provided
by Pusat Kesihatan UniSZA (PKU).
A considerable majority of students and staff are unaware that PKU
offers complimentary medications, therapies, and healthcare
provisions if needed.
3. PROJECT OBJECTIVES
a. To analyze and perform comprehensive research and surveys to
pinpoint the distinct healthcare requirements and choices of both
students and faculty members in UniSZA Besut campus.
b. Design a carefully organized information framework for the
“MyUniSZA Care” healthcare system, defining how content and
features are structured to guarantee a smooth and user-friendly
experience.
c. To Develop a functional prototype of the “MyUniSZA Care“
healthcare system, implementing the designed user interface and
features which focuses on CRUD operations
4. SCOPE
Admin:
Admin will be able to:
1) Users and Staff authentication:
Allows PKU healthcare staff to login into UniSZA healthcare
systems via UniSZA staff id and password. This ensures that only
authorized users will be able to enter into the system and prevent
unauthorized access to patient credentials. PKU staff will also
authenticate newly registered users to ensure they are valid UniSZA
students and staff.
2) Record Keeping:
The app's record keeping functions facilitate the efficient
management and maintenance of facility records by administrators or
authorised workers.Additionally, this encompasses the capability to
effectively oversee and arrange appointments, doctor consultations, and
patient visits, amongst other medical services, by monitoring facility
records.
3) Appointment validation:
PKU healthcare staff will validate submitted appointment requests
from users by checking whether the healthcare staff are available on the
appointment date and if the illness they are having warrants a doctor's
appointment.
Users:
Students and UniSZA staff will be able to access to plethora of services such as:
1) Registration : New students and staff will have to register on their first
visit. Details such as their student/staff id number, name, ic number,
phone number and address. This information will automatically be filled
into a form when their id’s are typed into the system on their next visit.
2) Health Assessment: The health assessment feature will inquire about
the user's well-being and produce a general report on whether they should
seek treatments based on their responses.
3) Schedule Appointment: This functions allows the staffs and students to
schedule an appointment at the UniSZA health centre (PKU) by submitting
a digital form that contains their UniSZA id, The symptom
4) First Aid Guidelines: The First Aid Guidelines function will show the
fundamentals of first aid along with visuals.
5) Emergency Services: This function will list the addresses and phone
numbers of surrounding medical institutions and facilities.
