EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Wild Threads is an exciting new business that allows people to custom design a shirt (specifically
the design on the front or back) any way that they would like. By intelligently leveraging cutting
edge technology, our Wild Threads will harness the power of computer sublimation to allow
custom shirt printing in production runs as small as one unit. The company was founded by Athira
Mohan. Our company Wild Threads, provides storefront in Bengaluru, as well as a comprehensive
website that allows ordering to occur anywhere.

Imagine the ability to create a totally custom shirt. You choose the material and style of the shirt,
and then the image or graphic you want on the front and/or back. This is the ultimate form of
expression. There are no limits to what you can communicate. Some people might show their
enthusiasm for a particular sports team, others a musician, or you might have a social message or
cause on your shirt. Whatever you may decide, you can print any image on your shirt.

Wild Threads will offer customers a variety of options for creating their own custom shirts.
The majority of orders will be for t-shirts, however other style shirts will be available. Wild
Threads has developed a strategic relationship with Hewlett-Packard (HP) printer division. We
will use their printer sublimation technology that allows a computer image to be applied to a shirt
in a high quality, high resolution, and economically feasible manner.

This technology creates an image durable enough to withstand thousands of washings. Its photo-
like quality, due to significantly higher printer resolution than anything on the market, will show
off any image. The technology is cost effective enough to offer customers the ability to order just
one unit. Most other competitors' costs prohibit printing custom shirts in one-off production runs.
Finally, the customer may choose from an extensive library of existing images, supply their own
image, or have an artist create an image for them.

CHAPTER - 1
BUSINESS DESCRIPTION

A t-shirt business involves the design, production, and sale of t-shirts. T-shirts are a popular and
versatile type of clothing, worn by people of all ages and across many different styles and cultures.
Starting a t-shirt business can be a great opportunity for entrepreneurs looking to tap into this
market. To get started, you'll need to determine your target market and choose the types of t-shirts
you want to offer. You'll also need to secure funding and choose a location for your business,
whether it's a physical store or an online shop. Once you've established these foundational
elements, you can start working on the design and production of your t-shirts.

There are several different approaches to t-shirt design, including custom printing, graphic design,
or private label branding. You'll need to choose the method that best suits your business goals and
resources. Once your t-shirts are ready, you can start selling them. This can be done through
wholesale channels, retail channels, or online. You can also consider targeting specific niche
markets, such as music genres or social causes, to differentiate your business and attract customers.
Overall, starting a t-shirt business can be a challenging but rewarding venture, with the potential
for high returns and growth if done right.

The scope of a t-shirt business can vary widely, depending on the size of the company and the
target market. Here are a few areas that a t-shirt business may focus on:
1. Design and production: Creating unique and appealing designs for t-shirts, and manufacturing
the shirts using high-quality materials.
3. Retail: Operating physical or online stores that sell t-shirts directly to consumers.
4. Custom printing: Offering custom printing services to businesses or individuals, including
screen printing, digital printing, or heat transfer.
5. Private label: Developing custom t-shirt designs and brands for clients, including everything
from design and production to packaging and distribution.
6. Niche markets: Focusing on a specific niche, such as sports teams, music genres, or social
causes, to target a particular group of consumers.
7. E-commerce: Selling t-shirts online through a company website or through platforms.

1
Name of the organization: Wild Threads
Tagline: Wear Your Spirit of Adventure!
Legal entity: Sole Proprietorship
Company Goals and Objectives:

• To become known as the premier custom shirt sublimation service.

• Achieve profitability within 12 months.
• Design and implement strict financial controls to help ensure success.
• Collaborations with top brands.
• To provide the product at reasonable price
• To gain customers’ trust.
• To stand out as a custom T-Shirt company.

Following are the 8 reasons why T-Shirt printing industry will trend in 2022:

Branding:

Every year thousands of new businesses get started. This is making it a little challenging for
companies to get the attention of their target audience. In order to spread the word about the
company and grab the attention, companies have started making use of custom t-shirts. Have you
ever thought why car companies put their company logos in the front and back of the car? It’s for
branding purpose. Putting a logo and other information about brand on custom t-shirts helps
companies in creating brand awareness and drawing attention. They communicate the brand
message in a more casual and friendly way. It can be worn anytime and anywhere and there is no
chance that the person wearing it will get unnoticed.

Fad For TV Series:

Big Bang Theory, Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, Friends, – no matter wherever you go, you
will always find fans of these series. Though these TV series are still going on, fans like to flaunt
custom clothes such as custom hoodies, tank tops, tees, etc. linked with these series or their
characters. If you have a t-shirt maker tool, you can help your customers in creating a design of
their own choice. They can make a selection of colors, graphics, fonts, etc. as per their taste and

2
style. Before going for final t-shirt printing, the tool must allow them to see how the design will
look on their t-shirt.

Boosting Team Spirit:

Over the past few years, companies have started realizing the importance of creating a strong
company culture. Custom t-shirts are a great way in developing a strong emotional bond with the
company. It unites internal teams, thus increases motivation and commitment among employees
to achieve company’s goals.

Customer Loyalty:

In this highly competitive world, where competitors are just a few clicks away, it takes months or
even years for companies to gain customer loyalty. Researchers have shown that customers are
willing to stick around with those companies that have created great experience for them. Instead
of just depending on websites, or events, companies have started giving print t-shirts as a freebie
on minimum purchase of any of their product. It is helping them in retaining old customers and
making new customers feel special.

For Making Fashion Quotient:

Swaggers are always ready to make style statements. In order to show off their sense of style, they
always prefer to wear custom printed funny t shirts. They can flaunt their fashion quotient by
wearing t-shirts and various other styles like custom hoodies etc. that set them apart from others.

Off-The-Clock Marketing:

Custom t-shirts are like free off-the-clock marketing tool. Well-designed t-shirts encourage
employees and customers to wear them anytime anywhere, thus helping companies in building
brand identity.

3
Less Costly:

As compared to other forms of advertising like hoardings, T.V, etc. custom t-shirts are one of the
most cost-effective ways to promote business. Online T-shirt maker tools have also made it easy
for people to design shirts or t-shirts for any occasion. In addition to this, a good quality t-shirt has
a longer shelf life, helping brand in gaining visibility for a longer period. This has increased the
demand of t-shirts.

Promoting A Safe Planet:

Now-a-days, people have become more aware and concerned about the environment. It is making
them use eco-friendly products. Not only these t-shirts have quotes that motivate people to protect
the planet, but they also use minimal energy and carbon. Why not consider setting up an
environmentally friendly t- shirt printing company? After all, there is no planet B!

The Most Important Strengths

1) Leverage cutting edge technology as a competitive advantage.
2) Exceed customer expectations by offering high quality products at reasonable prices with
quick turnaround times.
3) Employ careful financial and accounting analysis to ensure efficiency and proper controls.

Wild Threads will be led by me, Athira Mohan, and is not my first-time selling T- Shirts. While in
college I have sold tie-dye shirts with my uncle. This early business experience gave me valuable
insight into the market, the products, and the customer's needs and desires. Kavana, my friend,
works in Hewlett-Packard's printer division, and it was her experience that provided useful
business and professional contacts within the shirt sublimation technology industry. With my
educational skills, technological business contacts, and my previous shirt industry experience I can
make Wild Threads profitable.

CHAPTER – 3
DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

Wild Threads will offer customers a variety of options for creating their own custom shirts.
The majority of orders will be for t-shirts, however other style shirts will be available. Wild
Threads has developed a strategic relationship with Hewlett-Packard (HP) printer division. We
will use their printer sublimation technology that allows a computer image to be applied to a shirt
in a high quality, high resolution, and economically feasible manner. This technology creates an
image durable enough to withstand thousands of washings. Its photo-like quality, due to
significantly higher printer resolution than anything on the market, will show off any image. The
technology is cost effective enough to offer customers the ability to order just one unit. Most other
competitors' costs prohibit printing custom shirts in one-off production runs. Finally, the customer
may choose from an extensive library of existing images, supply their own image, or have an artist
create an image for them.

TYPES OF T-SHIRTS OFFERED:

▪ Short Sleeves:
Basic t-shirts have high, rounded necklines and sleeves that hit below the shoulder. They
are long enough to cover your entire torso and are designed to fit comfortably.
▪ Cap Sleeves:
Cap sleeves hit the shoulders right in the middle. The design is meant to slim your arms
and create a flattering look. You can dress these t-shirts up by pairing them with jeans and
a nice jacket.
▪ Three-quarter Sleeves:
Let's say it's a chilly day, but you have a bracelet you want to show off. Throw on a shirt
with three-quarter sleeves. The arms hit about 3 inches above your wrist.
▪ Full Sleeves:
Full sleeve or long sleeve t-shirts are great for layering in the winter. The sleeves are long
enough to cover your arms, and since they're usually made from a thin material. They won't
feel bulky underneath your jacket.

6
▪ Crop top/ Half shirt:
Show off your abs in a crop top or half shirt, which doesn't cover the entire torso area. You
may also hear this type of shirt referred to as a belly, cut-off, or baby doll shirt.
▪ Crew Neck:
A crewneck collar is shaped like the letter "U". It's the most common type of neckline
found in t-shirts since it's not overly revealing and is flattering for all body types.
▪ V-Neck:
As the name suggests, a V-neck shirt has a neckline shaped like the letter "V". This cut
shows off more of the chest area and is worn by both men and women.
▪ Scoop Neck:
The scoop neck is like the crewneck's bolder cousin! The neckline has a deeper "U", so it
looks like it's literally "scooped" out of the chest area.

Other Types:

➢ Cowl neck
➢ Turtle neck
➢ Off-Shoulder
➢ Collared/polo
➢ Henley
➢ Dry fit
➢ Ringer
➢ Hooded
➢ Pocket
➢ Baseball, Rugby and Longline/ t-shirt dress
➢ Boat neck

INNOVATIVE IDEAS:

Like in real life, being different from the crowd in business will make you conspicuous. When
your business is different, you attract attention and consumers begin to discuss your products and
services. When more people discuss you, your business and the products you deliver come into
the limelight triggering a desire among people to be part of the game.

7
To be different is not an exacting science but it can be accomplished if you have the flair for
innovating more often than the competition outside. It’s more often because uniqueness is short-
lived and someone is there always around the block to replicate it.

• Wild Threads’ main goal is inspiring and motivating customers’ creativity. Hence, we have
a unique idea to encourage people’s creativity. We sell up to hundred pieces of t-shirts in
the name of the customer who come up with a unique style and pattern t-shirt along with
our company name.
• We use eco-friendly clothing material/ sustainable garments in preparation of our products
which most of companies fail to.
• We don’t restrict on designs; the t-shirts are offered in every design the customer desires.
• The main competitive advantage is leverage cutting edge technology, which means,
employing the most current and high-level IT developments; Cutting edge is also known
as leading edge technology or state-of-the-art technology.
• We have established close business and personal ties with HP's printer division and will
exclusively be using prototype technology that offers an unprecedented high resolution
sublimation process for shirts.
• While other vendors are able to offer sublimation in single production runs, their computer-
based sublimation process produces lower image quality. Your T-Shirt takes sublimation
one step further by producing the graphic images at a higher resolution than other existing
technologies.
• As a t-shirt company advertisement won’t be a problem because t-shirt itself acts as an
advertisement tool by carrying company logo and name.
• Wild Threads will also offer custom artwork or graphic options for sublimation. The
customer may bring in a graphic or may use Wild Threads’ sub-contracted artist to realize
their vision. Wild Threads’ artists can take a customer's pencil drawing or even articulated
thoughts and turn them into a new design.

Wild Threads will offer custom sublimation mainly on T-shirts, but will have other shirt styles
available. Customers can choose from traditional cotton-blend shirts or all natural fiber cotton
shirts. Customers can then choose from pre-existing graphics or custom artwork. The pre-existing
graphics are chosen from an extensive catalog. Wild Threads has developed strategic relationships

8
with several companies that offer a wide range of graphic images. The relationships allow Wild
Threads to list the other company's graphics within their catalog thereby providing many options.
These images can be viewed and ordered online, providing customers with flexibility and
convenience. Wild Threads will have a comprehensive website that will allow ordering from a
customer's home, or where ever they may be. Additionally, Wild Threads will have a computer
kiosk in the store front as an in-store catalog. Wild Threads will offer customers a range of different
shirt options. There will be an emphasis on T-shirts. Short sleeves, long sleeves, organic fabrics,
and a variety of polo, rugby and other styles will also be offered. Printed t-shirts are very special
to customer, as wearing them reflects the interest and personality of the person. Wild Threads will
satisfy the customers by clearly stating their personality through its design. Customer can place
the order online and Wild Threads will make the product reach the customer at the right place and
right time without delay. Customer complaints will be considered and we will be happy to take the
inputs from the customers regarding the product development. And this increases customer loyalty
and satisfaction towards the company.

9
CHAPTER – 4
MARKET RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS

The product/ services and how it is valuable to customers, a detailed description of the target
market, and positioning of the product is described under this head. Wild Threads has segmented
the market into two groups, organized by the type of product that they purchase. The first group is
customers that desire an already created graphic image to be placed on the shirt. The second group
are those that prefer custom artwork to be placed on their shirt. Wild Threads has decided to divide
the market by the products that they purchase because it offers an intuitive, easy method of
targeting the two different groups. An additional reason for segmenting the market based on the
two products is because the demographics for the buyers of the two products are distinct enough
to group them separately.

Although Wild Threads is dividing the market by product type, it is effectively dividing the market
by age as well, since the customers who purchase the custom artwork shirts tend to be older than
the group preferring the ready-made graphics. While this is not a hard and fast rule, it is a fairly
accurate generalization.

Graphics: This is group purchases a shirt and has an existing graphic placed on the shirt. This is
the less expensive option and lends itself to low production numbers, as low as one, since there is
not the inherent expense of artwork creation.

• Ages 14-25
• 70% are students.

Artwork: This segment prefers having custom artwork created and placed on their shirt. They
generally have the image or style in mind and will direct the artist to create it. Occasionally, when
the customer will not have an exact image in mind but will rely on the artist's skills to help shape
the work. Some of these customers will use Your Wild Threads partner artist, others will have a
friend or other service provider develop the art.

• Ages 24-43

10
• 20% are using the shirt as a form of communication for a cause or a message.

Wild Threads has chosen these two market segments because their demographics have the highest
likelihood of purchasing a custom shirt. Both of these segments are reasonably young. This is
important because most of Wild Threads’ products are T-shirts and younger people tend to wear
them frequently.

Music is also an important interest for the target markets since both segments listen to and watch
more than average amount of music. T-shirts are particularly popular at music events. This
phenomenon may be explained in part by the expressive nature of both music and T-shirt graphics.
Wild Threads will provide a form of expression, allowing each customer to choose what aesthetic
or idea they want to communicate.

Lastly, the business will be located in Bangalore which has a young, hip scene. There are many
music and other venues that cater to Wild Threads’ demographics and these will be useful in
developing awareness of Wild Threads.

11
CHAPTER – 5
MARKETING PLAN

Marketing is the process of promoting and selling products or services by creating and
communicating value to a target audience. It involves researching, promoting, and distributing a
product or service to potential customers. Effective marketing requires a deep understanding of
customer needs and preferences, as well as a thorough knowledge of the competition and the
marketplace. Marketing encompasses a wide range of activities, including advertising, public
relations, sales promotion, and direct marketing. The goal of marketing is to generate demand for
a product or service, build brand awareness, and ultimately drive sales.

To be effective, marketing must be integrated into a company's overall business strategy. and must
be based on a thorough understanding of the target audience, the market, and the competition. In
order to be successful, marketers must be able to craft compelling messages, reach customers
through multiple channels, and measure and analyze the results of their efforts. Overall, marketing
is a critical component of any successful business, as it helps companies reach and engage with
their target audience, build brand awareness, and ultimately drive sales and revenue.

The marketing campaign will seek to increase visibility for Wild Threads, emphasizing the ability
of the customer to completely customize their design. Wild Threads will use several
different venues to communicate this message.

• Advertising: Wild Threads will run ads in several teen/young adult magazines whose
readership demographics are similar to Wild Threads’.
• Youth events: Many different events will be sponsored as a means of increasing visibility.
These include but are not limited to music festivals and sporting events along with the new
genre of extreme sporting events.
• Student groups: Wild Threads will attempt to gain awareness of the different student
groups who actively purchase shirts for their members. Awareness will be achieved through

12
a combination of sponsorship of student organization events as well as advertisements in
magazines that specifically target this demographic.

The website will be integral in Wild Threads’ marketing effort as the site is a key sales tool for
both local and distant customers. The URL address will always be used in promotional material,
encouraging people to check out the company, concept, and the products. In additional to inclusion
in the traditional marketing campaigns, Wild Threads will submit their website to a variety of
search engines, significantly increasing the number of inquiries from people searching out custom
shirts. A computer programmer/designer has been identified as a candidate to manage the design,
implementation, and maintenance of the website. The majority of the tasks will be completed by
him, a few tasks that are outside of his skill set will be subcontracted to his associates.

Wild Threads will have a website developed that is based on the philosophy that the site must be
user-friendly. Wild Threads' entire product catalog will be available on the site for customers to
place orders. Because of the large volume of graphic image choices, it will be imperative that the
site is easy to navigate through all the different options. The store will have a computer kiosk for
customers to access the graphics catalog. The customer can then place the order online or take the
information to an employee to place the order. The initial cost of the website will be the largest.
Monthly maintenance costs will be marginal relative to the development and design costs.

PRICING STRATEGY:

Pricing strategies refer to processes and methodologies businesses use to set prices for their
products and services. If pricing is how much you charge for your products, then product pricing
strategy is how you determine what that amount should be. There are different pricing strategies
to choose from but some of the more common ones include.

• Value-based pricing
• Competitive pricing
• Price skimming
• Cost-plus pricing
• Penetration pricing
• Economy pricing

13
• Dynamic pricing.

We are planning to adapt value-based pricing strategy with value-based pricing, you set your prices
according to what consumers think your product is worth. We're big fans of this pricing strategy.

SALES STRATEGY:

The sales strategy will emphasize the fact that ordering a shirt from Wild Threads is a very easy
and pleasing experience. The sales effort will work on the continual development of the website,
the main tool used for ordering. It will be quite important to have a friendly, easy to use web
interface for two main reasons. One, there are so many choices available that it could become
daunting to the customer. The second reason is that a large portion of sales will be placed on the
website. It is imperative to make it so easy that people don't stop part way through ordering due
to cumbersome or difficult instructions. The website embraces the philosophy of making the
experience so easy and pleasing that the customer comes back to buy more.

Wild Threads will also rely on three other factors to help boost sales. The first is exemplary
customer service. Having excellent service will provide the customer with the feeling that the
business is looking out for the customer's interest. Second, when a customer places an order, they
will probably be excited to see the finished product, so Wild Threads will ensure the fastest
turnaround time possible. Lastly, sales will be boosted by offering customers a high-quality
product. We will use high grade cotton shirts and state-of-the-art sublimation printing materials

14
CHAPTER – 6
OPERATIONS

Production:

We sell high quality T-Shirts and our work is to design the t-shirts according to customers
instruction and also allow the customers to choose the ready-wear shirts of their choice. We stitch
and design the clothes at the given time period and also deliver the clothes in time to the customers.
Also, we have a vision that our final material or the cloth given to the customer will be the same
thing that the customer is thinking. The read-wear clothes will be taken directly from the
manufacturers. And also, few materials would be taken from the wholesaler. We allow our
customers to choose their own design or take the help of the fashion designer in the shop. Also,
the tailors and the fashion designers will work according to that and this will help us to pay a
healthy salary to the staff.

Management:

Management of T-Spiration business looks at the overall process and tries to fulfill the needs of
the customers' demand. Also, our aim is to give good quality clothes to the customer, get profits
and control our inventory. Also give the employees working in our store some salary benefits,
incentives etc. Also, our management gives awareness of how important our dressing sense is.

Research and development:

Research and development teams use new techniques to give better clothes and high-quality goods
at low cost. Also, they do research about the present trend and what would be the future trend.
Also think about how to reduce our cost of investment.

Quality control:

Quality control person will check the quality of the raw materials received and also the quality of
the ready-wear clothes received. They check whether the quality of the product is as good as we
have expected.

15
Wild Threads performs the following operations to manufacture the final product:

1. Design of product: This strategic decision area deals with the design of any fashion product.
The operation ideal is to ensure that product design aligns with organizational capabilities and
business pretensions. In this case, any brand focuses on designs grounded on advanced technology
and current request preferences.

2. Quality Management: Any brand should emphasize quality in its processes and products. The
ideal in this strategic decision area is to satisfy consumers’ prospects about product quality. The
company’s operations operation addresses this concern through high quality norms and the
operation of total quality management (TQM) in the product of sports shoes, outfit and vesture.

3. Process and Capacity Design: This strategic decision area requires that operations must
prioritize streamlining and effectiveness of product. The idea is to insure acceptable, effective, and
effective product. In fashion operations directors apply nonstop enhancement strategies to support
the company’s product pretensions and requirements grounded on request dynamics.

4. Supply Chain Management: Any brand should have excellent force chain operation, which
facilitates effective product to support the global sports shoes, vesture and outfit business. The
ideal in this strategic decision area of operations operation is to align the force chain with the
company’s overall strategic points. It satisfies this ideal through force chain robotization and
optimization of transport distances among suppliers, product installations, distributors and
retailers.

5. Inventory Management: The objective in this strategic decision area is to maintain operations
management that minimizes inventory costs while maximizing its effectiveness and efficiency.
Managers apply the perpetual method of inventory management, which involves continuous
monitoring and movement of inventory from the supply chain to the distributors and retailers.

6. Scheduling: It approach is primarily concerned with corporate operations and the coordination
of the supply chain with distribution and retail operations. In this strategic decision area of
operations management, the aim is to maximize resource utilization.

7. Design decisions: This needs a good understanding of how consumers choose among products

16
within a collection. Retailers like Zara harness this chance by researching what sells, instead of
sticking solely to ‘safe’ bets. Being conscious of trends set when they happen rather than being
tied to traditional seasonal spring and autumn collections.

8. Purchasing/sourcing decisions: These needs managing the risks of over-ordering and under-
ordering compared to demand. Caro and Martínez-de-Albeniz suggest that a multi-purchase model
is apt for companies where lead times are shorter, and it’s possible to use early demand information
to produce more when demand becomes high.

9. Distribution decisions: Once designs and their quantities are decided, distribution decisions
have to be made in order to properly distribute inventory across a network of stores. Here, again,
the instance of Zara is relevant; Zara’s distribution model is at the level of store display. If a
product is unavailable in major sizes, it removes the merchandise from the shop floor. This needs
that distribution decisions take into account the shipping scarce stock to other stores in the network,
in order that the right combination of sizes is always on display.

every individual’s role and responsibilities. Organizations must be able to adapt their human
capital to sustain the continuous shifts in technology, local and global economics, product
innovation, and culture. Human resource planning is integral to maximizing a well-equipped
workforce, and it offers other advantages that assist in accomplishing your organization’s mission.

FINANCIAL PROJECTIONS

A financial plan identifies, organizes and prioritizes your financial goals, then outlines the steps
you need to take to achieve them. They can also lend some insight as to if you’re on track to meet
your financial goals or if you need to make adjustments to your spending. These plans may revolve
around consolidating debt, opening bank or brokerage accounts, establishing a savings regime or
building an investment plan.

Financial plans can stretch over years, months or decades, depending on the time horizon of your
goals. But through seemingly small steps, like having a monthly savings goal or investing a portion
of your paycheck, your financial plan can lead to much better preparation for the future.

A financial plan helps you responsibly manage your money and plan for the future. Though making
a plan may take some time and dedication, it will likely pay off in the long run. In turn, you’ll have
a clearer path to the future for you and your family. Don’t be afraid to seek out a financial advisor
if you’re unsure of where to begin with your financial plan.

CHAPTER – 9
CONCLUSION

To conclude, the potential of my new t-shirt business, Wild Threads is clear. With a strong
marketing strategy, a trend-focused product line, and a commitment to customer service, this
business has the potential to be a market leader in the t-shirt industry. With the right mix of
innovative products, customer-centric services, and a sound business plan, this business can make
a lasting impact in the fashion industry and become a go-to destination for stylish, high- quality
shirts. The t-shirt business plan outlines a promising opportunity to tap into a vast market of casual
wear. The market analysis, competitive landscape, and product design strategy all indicate a clear
path to success. With a focus on high-quality materials, unique designs, and excellent customer
service, the business aims to establish a strong brand and loyal customer base. The implementation
of the proposed marketing and sales strategies will help reach a wide audience and drive sales.
With careful execution and a commitment to continuous improvement, the t-shirt business has the
potential to become a profitable and sustainable venture.
