Introduction
The whistle blows and the game is on.
Soccer isn't that complicated, but there's
much more to the game than just kicking
the ball at the goal. For instance one very
important, and fun part of the game is
offense along with many other important
parts including, Defense, striker, and
one very exciting job, Goalie. But like I
said before, the game isn't just kicking,
believe it or not there's a right kind of
kicking. All this combined equals a pro
soccer game. It Always offers you so
much fun and so much excitement. But
learning how to play doesn't come
easy. You're gonna need my help to to get
out there. So what are we waiting for, let's
teach you how to play.
Suiting up
So you've heard about this Soccer thing.
Well how do you get prepared, and most
importantly what do you ware. First the
shinguards, they block powerful kicks and
block the cleat on other players shoes from
scraping your shins up. They are particularly
helpful in penalty kicks because even if you
do block the kick, that doesn't mean there
can't be a rebound. if there is, And you stretch
out you're leg to block it. Those shinguards
are really going to decrease the power of the
kick. But more importantly if you go in for a
slide and they accidentally kick at you're
shins. All I have to say is that you're shins are
lucky they have guards protecting them.
Shinguards Cleats
Next you need to slip on you're socks they
don't do much but if you're wearing slide on
shin guards, they help keep them in place.
And to be honest it's apparently the style.
But there not just normal socks they go up
to just below the knee so that there able to
completely cover you're shin guards. But
you can't go on that field with just
shinguards and a pair of socks, you have to
wear you're uniform. The first step is putting
on you're jersey along with the rest of you're
uniform, back to you're jersey it dignifies
you're team number you're last name and
you're team name. But we're missing
something very important the color of you're
uniform, it determines the people you're
going to want to pass to, and in terms of
goalie, it tells the other team he can pick up
the ball. In terms of gear, cleats are the last
thing. The title says it all they have relatively
large cleats at the bottom giving you
traction to run around on the pitch
Passing and Shooting
One very important skill in soccer is passing.
Depending on how far away your teammate is
will determine weather you use the soul of
your foot or the lace. For instance if you're
teammate is halfway down the field or more
you're going to want to use you're lace. The
top of your shoe is the lace, it gives you more
power for farther kicks. Where as with the
soul of your foot is used for shorter passes
and more accurate passes. Next comes
shooting, the three big opportunities are
penalty kicks, break aways, and crosses. First
comes penalties this occurs when you're in
the penalty box, pretty convenient right, and
someone fouls you. Crosses are also a big
opportunities, all it takes is one assist and the
game could be over. Lastly break aways, one
mistake and they could easily get out of
control. When you take the shot it has to be
very precise, but with that much speed it can
be very tricky.
Offense and defense
Now it's time to learn how the game works. First
comes offense, it's A very fun and inportant job
in soccer, well there's many different important
jobs in soccer including left and right midfielders,
and striker. Striker is the shooter, and usually the
man that brings the ball up the field. Left and
right middy on the other hand are usually the
people that stay on both sides of the felid giving
the striker the option to make various plays. But
they don't just stay off to the sides they can be
either defense or offense. Everybody on you're
team rely on offense to score the goals for
you're team, as you might have guessed
defense is the exact opposite, they stay back
and help guard the goal, but it's not all bad for
them cause they have an advantage, offense
can't cross half before the ball does meaning
defense can easily steal it. Like defense the
goalie stays back as well. It's his job to block
shots, make powerful punts, and call plays. The
goalie can't actually leave the box still holding
the ball it's illegal. He can pick up the ball, but if
he leaves the box still holding it it'll be a free
kick. Alright you're ready, now let's get out there
and play.
As we trench through the wet morning dew I see
my coach in a huddle discussing the plays, I join in
and don't say a word. I take a peak at the other
team and can't help but notice there doing the
same. As we finish our huddle the ref asks us to
show the team captains. As we we were in the
huddle we talked about the captain in advance. It
was me, they asked me to come up with the
captain from the other team, when I got there she
asked me to pick heads or tails I picked heads she
tossed it up caught it and slapped it down the other
way, we lost. The ref asked the other teams captain
weather he wanted to have the ball or side of
choice, he picked ball first, I picked the side against
the sun. The whistle blows and the game is on.
Striker passes it to right Middy, I try to cut him off
but he passes it back it back to striker, luckily our
defense grabs it, he passes it to me and I take off
as I cross half I pass it to left middy, as we run
along side each other he passes it back just in the
nick of of time. I shoot the goalie dives, but he was
on the opposite side and couldn't get to it in time
and falls short but just ahead of him the ball goes
in. At the exact time the buzzer goes off and as we
line up to congratulate each other I know from this
game there's way more to soccer than just kicking
a ball at a goal.
Barcelona Vs. Real Madrid
Conclusion
Hopefully now you know about the game
yourself, and that there is much more to
the game than just kicking balls at goals.
And that if everyone does there job, all the
pieces fit together and it plays out perfect.
From the offense to defense and striker to
goalie everyone does there job to make it
happen
