We advise you to ensure the operating system is up-to-date before you start the installation. This is easy to check by starting up "Internet Explorer"
and selecting the option "Windows Update" in the "Extra" menu. It is also important to check if the Internet connection is working properly before
installing the router.

Connecting a computer with a UTP cable

Make sure to switch off the connected computer(s). Then connect the power supply to the router. Connect the computer to one of the four LAN
ports at the back of the router, using a UTP cable. Connect the ADSL or cable modem to one of the WAN ports at the back of the router, using a
UTP cable. Switch on the computer(s). After start-up, the LAN lights at the front of the router should light up, indicating a connection has been
established. The WAN light should also light up to indicate a connection has been established between the router and the ADSL or cable modem.
Should one of the lights fail to light up, check if the UTP cables have been connected correctly.

LEDs front

On the front of the router you can see the control LEDs which indicate the status of the device.
From left to right:

• PWR LED (Power LED) Lights up green as soon as the device is switched on.
• WAN LED (Wide Area Network LED) This light will blink as soon as data is being sent or received via the network. When the LED is lit up green
continuously, it means the network is available.
• Status (M1) This LED will blink if the router is active.
• LAN LED 1 t/m 4 (Link/ACT) These green LEDs indicate the status of the connection on each of the 4 LAN ports. Furthermore, these LEDs blink
during data traffic.
• SPEED (10/100 Mbps) Data traffic on a 10/100 Mbps connection on the connected LAN port.

LEDs back

On the back of the Broadband Router you will find various network connections, a reset button and the power supply connection. From left to right:

• LAN 1 t/m 4 You can directly connect computers to this connection by means of a UTP cable. The connection is suitable for both 10 and 100
Mbps connections.
• WAN The ADSL or cable modem is connected here in respect of the Internet connection.
• DC IN This is where the external power supply (9 Volt direct voltage) is connected.
• RESET This button has two different functions. If you push the button briefly, the router will be reset. This has the same effect as temporarily
pulling out the power supply plug. If the router displays serious problems, it can be reset to the manufacturer’s settings by pushing the reset button
for 10 seconds. This means all settings will be erased.

The Setup Wizard

Start the internet browser and enter the following in the address line: http://192.168.123.254
For security reasons, the router has a password. This password is: admin. Click "OK". The password can be changed and we advise you to do so.
The status screen appears first. On the left-hand side in the menu, you can select the "Wizard" option. Then click on "Next". You will see the screen
below. Sweex has created a number of presets. Select one of these presets or choose "manual configuration" in order to set the modem manually.

For certain providers, the configuration of the Sweex Broadband Router requires a so-called MAC address. A MAC address is the unique number of
the network card. With the "clone MAC address" you can send this address to the router quickly. You can trace this number as follows after which
you can manually enter it.

MAC address Windows 98SE

Go to the "Start", select 'Run' and type: WINIPCFG. Then press Enter. A window with the title IP Configuration will appear. Here you must select
the network card (Note!, this is not an NDIS adapter or PPP adapter!). Now carefully copy the adapter address.
