Advisory/Instructions to Candidates
We hope that you have downloaded the Admit Card from the official website of Supreme Court
https://main.sci.gov.in/ and are now fully prepared to appear for the Supreme Court Junior Court
Assistant 2022 Examination on the date, shift, and venue of Test Centre as indicated on the Admit
Card downloaded from the Supreme Court’s official website.
1. Please Download your Admit Card from the Supreme Court website https://main.sci.gov.in/
2. Please check following as indicated on the Admit Card:
➢ Date of Examination
➢ Shift and Timings of Test
➢ Venue of Test
➢ Reporting Time at Centre
➢ Gate Closing time of Centre
3. You should visit the Examination Centre, in advance and familiarize yourself with the location and
means of reaching at the venue of the Test on time.
4. On the day of Examination, please reach the venue of the Test at the Reporting Time mentioned
in the Admit Card. If you report beyond the Gate Closing time of Centre, you will not be allowed
to enter in the Test venue. Instructions have been issued for strict compliance. Several pre-
examination formalities need to be completed and therefore please reach on time.

Part-2 - Typing (English) Test
Mode of Test English Typing Test on Computer with minimum 35 w.p.m. after
deduction of mistakes (mistakes allowed up to 3%)
Shift timings of Shift 1 - 12:30 P.M. to 12:40 P.M.
Part 2 Shift 2 - 06:00 P.M. to 06:10 P.M.
Test Duration Ten (10) minutes
Number of Passage of 650 words for the English Typing Test on Computer of 10
words minutes duration
Candidates will not be permitted to leave the Exam Hall/Room/Lab until they complete all
the Parts of the Exams (i.e. Part-1 and Part-2). No candidate will be allowed to leave his/her
seat during the gap period of 30 minutes between Part-1 and Part-2 of the Examination.
In case of persons with benchmark disabilities in the category of blindness, locomotor
disability (both arms affected BA) cerebral palsy, the facility of Scribe is provided, if
desired by the candidate.
In case of remaining categories of persons with benchmark disabilities, the provision of Scribe
will be provided on production of a certificate at the time of examination to the effect that the
person concerned has physical limitation to write, and Scribe is essential to write examination
on his behalf, from the Chief Medical Officer/ Civil Surgeon/ Medical Superintendent of a
Government health care institution as per prescribed format.
Such Candidates are allowed use of Scribe but not availing the facility of Scribe will also be
given compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination.
Important Note:
For Multiple Choice Questions, the candidates need to choose one correct option or
the most appropriate option. However, if any anomaly or discrepancy is found after
the process of challenges of the key verification, it shall be addressed in the following
manner:
(i) Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: One mark (+1)
(ii) Any incorrect option marked will be given -0.25
(iii)Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no mark (0).
(iv) If more than one option is found to be correct then one mark (+1) will be awarded
to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
(v) If all options are found to be correct then one mark (+1) will be awarded to all those
who have attempted the question.
(vi) If none of the options is found correct or a Question is found to be wrong or a
Question is dropped then percent equivalence is to be established on the remaining
questions whether attempted or not attempted.

2. Exam Specific Instructions
PHASE I PART 1
i. The Phase-1 of the Test comprises two parts, i.e. Part-1 and Part-2.
ii. Both parts will be delivered in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
iii. Part-1 is of 2 hours duration as per following details :
*Provision of extra time of 40 minutes (in Part-1) for PH candidates.
1. All questions are compulsory. To answer a Multiple-Choice Question, the candidate needs to
choose only one option corresponding to the correct answer or the ‘MOST APPROPRIATE
ANSWER’.
2. Each correct answer shall be awarded 01 mark, while 0.25 will be deducted for each wrong
answer.
3. The countdown timer in the top right corner of the Test screen will display the remaining
time available for you to complete the Test. When the timer reaches zero, automatically the
test will be submitted.
PHASE I PART 2
i. Typing (English) Test on Computer with minimum a speed of 35 w.p.m. (mistakes allowed
up to 03%).
ii. This Typing Test consists of a Passage of 650 words (in English) to be typed on Computer in
10 minutes duration.
iv. A Passage of 650 words (in English) will be displayed on the upper half portion of the screen.
Candidate will be required to type the passage on the computer in the same format in the
bottom half portion of the computer screen. In order to view the whole passage, candidate
needs to scroll down with the help of mouse.
v. The on-screen computer clock counter of every candidate will be set at the server. The
countdown timer on the top right side of the computer screen will display the time remaining
(in minutes) available for the candidate to complete the examination.
vi. If the candidate completes the passage of 650 words before 10 minutes duration, the candidate
has to immediately press “END TYPING TEST” button.
*Provision of extra time of 05 minutes (in Part-2) for PH candidates.

vii. Candidate has the option to press Backspace key, however, the timer will count the time
elapsed using Backspace key. Arrow Keys will remain disabled (upper-lower, left-right).
viii. During the gap period of 30 minutes, candidates may practice the typing and check that all
keys of the Keyboard along with mouse, monitor and display.
ix. Attendance in both the parts (Part-1 and Part-2) is compulsory. Those who appear in either of
the Parts but not in both the parts will be treated as absent.
xi. You are NOT allowed to carry Mobile Phones or any other Electronic / Bluetooth Device.
xii. The computer terminal allotted to the candidate will display the Welcome login screen. For
login, the candidate will have to enter his/her login-ID and password.
xiii. After login, at the designated time of the start of the examination, the candidates will be able
to proceed and see the passage on the computer screen.
xiv. Candidates will have the option to make corrections in the words typed anytime during the
entire duration of the examination.
xv. In case the computer/mouse allotted to any candidate malfunctions anytime during the test,
the candidate will be immediately allotted another computer system, during change/restart of
computer system timer gets freeze to give the candidate the full allotted time. There would be
no loss of time for the candidate.
Note:
1. Candidates are advised to go through the instructions printed on Admit Card carefully before
going for the Examination and follow them strictly. Candidate must carefully check the
particulars/photograph/ signatures/ Post detail etc. as shown in the Admit Card and
Confirmation Page.
2. Candidates will not be permitted to enter into the examination venue without the following:
a. Admit Card along with Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the SCI
website (a clear printout on A4 Size paper) duly filled in.
b. Additional 02 passport size photograph for pasting on the Attendance Sheet.
c. Original Valid ID Proof.
3. Computer Based Objective Type Test and Typing Test would be Screen-to-Screen.
4. In the Typing Test, the formula of counting of strokes including Space Bar will be on an average
of 5 keys depression for each word with maximum 3% mistakes of total word typed
5. The Admit Card is issued provisionally to the candidate, subject to his/her satisfying the
eligibility criteria. Issuance of Admit Card/Appearing in the Test does not confer any right of
appointment/selection. Appointment/Selection is subject to final verification at various stages
by the Recruiting Department.
6. If it is found that the candidate has furnished any false/fabricated information or has concealed
the truth, Supreme Court of India (SCI) reserves the right to reject/cancel/terminate the
candidature/selection/appointment at any stage, including post appointment stage.
7. No Candidate will be allowed to appear at the Examination Centre, on Date and Time other
than that allotted to him/her in his/her Admit Card.
8. As a precaution for COVID-19, the candidate must reach the Centre at the time as indicated
against Reporting/Entry time at Centre, on the Admit Card.
9. No candidate shall be permitted to enter after the Gate Closing Time.
10. No candidate shall be permitted to leave the Examination Room/ Hall before the end of the

examination.
11. On completion of the examination, please wait for instructions from Invigilator and do not get
up from your seat until advised. The candidates will be permitted to move out, one at a time
only.
12. All candidates are required to download and read carefully, the Instructions and Advisory for
COVID-19 given with the Admit Card and strictly adhere to them.
13. The Admit Card is provisional, subject to satisfying the eligibility conditions.
14. Candidates are advised to verify the location of the Test Centre, a day in advance so that
they do not face any problem on the day of the test.
15. If religion/customs require you to wear specific attire, please visit Centre early for thorough
checking and mandatory frisking.
16. No Candidate would be allowed to enter the Examination Centre, without Admit Card and
Undertaking, Valid ID Proof and proper frisking. Frisking through Handheld Metal
Detector (HHMD) will be carried out without physical touch.
17. Candidates will be permitted to carry only the following items with them into the
examination venue:
a) Own Mask.
b) Personal transparent water bottle.
c) Personal hand sanitizer (50 ml).
d) A simple transparent Ball Point Pen.
e) Admit Card along with Self Declaration (Undertaking) downloaded from the SCI
website (a clear printout on A4 size paper) duly filled in.
f) Additional 02 passport size photograph for pasting on the Attendance Sheet.
g) Original valid ID proof.
18. Before reaching the Centre, candidates must enter required details in the Self Declaration
(Undertaking) in legible handwriting, paste the Photograph and put thumb impression at the
appropriate place on the Admit Card. They should ensure that their Left-Hand Thumb
Impression is clear and not smudged.
19. Candidate must carry “Any one of the original and valid Photo Identification Proof issued by
the Government" — PAN card/Driving License/Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhaar Card (With
photograph)/ E-Aadhaar/ Ration Card/ Aadhaar Enrolment No. with Photo. All other
ID/Photocopies of IDs Even if attested/scanned photo of IDs in the mobile phone will NOT
be considered as a valid ID Proof.
20. The facility of Scribes/ passage reader will be provided to the PwD candidates only if she/he
has opted for the same in the online Application Form. No payment will be made to the Scribe
to be brought by the candidate. Candidates who require the facility of Scribe were advised to
e-mail to [email protected] two days before the examination. PWBD candidates must bring
PWD Certificate issued by the Competent Authority, if claiming relaxation.
21. Visually challenged candidates may use magnifying glasses which they have to arrange at
their own end. No examination material shall be provided in Braille Script for CBT or for
Typing Test.
22. In case the candidate opts for his own Scribe, the qualification of the Scribe should be one
step below the qualification prescribed for the post of JCA examination. The candidates with
benchmark disabilities opting for own Scribe shall be required to submit details of the own
Scribe at the time of examination as per the prescribed format. In addition, the Scribe has to
produce a valid ID proof in original at the time of examination. A photocopy of the ID proof
of the Scribe signed by the candidate as well as the Scribe will be submitted along with as per
format. If subsequently it is found that the qualification of the Scribe is not as declared by the
candidate, then the candidate shall forfeit his right to the candidature and claims relating
thereto.
23. Candidates are NOT allowed to carry any other personal belongings including electronic
devices, mobile phone, Bluetooth, watches to the Examination Centre. Examination Officials
will not be responsible for the safekeeping of personal belongings and there will be no facility
for storage of such personal belongings.
24. Shoes/footwear with thick soles and dresses with large buttons are NOT permitted.
25. Blank paper sheets for rough work will be provided in the examination Hall/Room.

Candidates must write their Name and Roll Number at the top of each of the sheet(s) and must
drop the sheet/s in the designated drop box without fail, before leaving the Examination
Hall/Room. Failureto do so may result in non-evaluation of your answers.
26. Duly filled in Admit Card must be dropped in the designated drop box while leaving the
examination Hall/Room. Failure to do so may result in the non- evaluation of your answers.
27. If a candidate is found using any unfair means/malpractices in the examination, his/her
candidature is liable to be cancelled and action/legal action as deemed fit will be initiated
against him/her.
28. Candidates are advised to regularly check updates on SCI’s website, i.e.
https://main.sci.gov.in/. They should also regularly check their mailbox on the registered E-
mail address and SMS in their registered Mobile No. for latest updates and information
regarding the exam.

4. Prohibited Materials
• Candidates are NOT allowed to carry Instruments, Geometry or Pencil box,
Handbag, Purse, any kind of Paper/ Stationery/ Textual material (printed or
written material), Eatables (loose or packed), Mobile Phone/ Earphone/
Microphone/ Pager, Calculator, DocuPen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera,
Tape Recorder, Electronic Watches, any metallic item or electronic gadgets/
devices in the Examination Hall/Room. Smoking, chewing gutka, spitting etc.
in the Examination Room/Hall is strictly prohibited.
• Possession by a candidate of any of the above-mentioned barred items will be treated as an
act of Unfair Means (UFM) and may lead to cancellation of his/her candidature in the
Examination and may also involve debarring the candidate for future examination(s), subject
to the final decision of SCI.
• Applications of candidates submitting false and fabricated information may be rejected and such
candidates may also be further debarred from appearing in future Examinations conducted by
SCI.
• All appearing candidates shall be strictly required to adhere to Covid-19 preventions
guidelines.
Note: Diabetic students will be allowed to carry eatables like sugar tablets / fruits (like banana
/ apple / orange) and transparent water bottle to the examination hall. However, they will not
be allowed to carry packed foods like chocolate / candy / sandwich etc.
No Candidate should adopt any unfair means or indulge in any unfair examination
practices as the examination centres are under surveillance of CCTV and equipped with
Jammers.

writing answers
v. Making false claims by manipulating the recorded responses during the facility for
challenge submission before or after declaration of result.
vi. Making an approach or attempting to influence the outcome of the result after the
examination
vii. Violating Examination rules or any direction issued for the examination in connection
with this Exam.
viii. Assisting other candidate to engage in malpractices, giving or receiving assistance
directly or indirectly of any kind or attempting to do so;
ix. Contacting or communicating or trying to do so with any person, other than the
Examination Staff, during the Examination time in the Examination Centre.
x. Threatening any of the officials connected with the conduct of the Examination or
threatening any of the candidates.
xi. Using or attempting to use any other undesirable method or means in connection with
the examination.
xii. Manipulation and fabrication of online documents viz. Admit Card, Rank Letter, Self-
Declaration, etc.
xiii. Forceful entry in /exit from Examination Centre/Hall.
xiv. Use or attempted use of any electronic device after entering the Examination Centre.
xv. Affixing/uploading of wrong/morphed photographs/signatures on the Application
Form/Admit Card/Proforma.
xvi. Creating obstacles in smooth and fair conduct of examination.
xvii. Any other malpractices declared/considered as Unfair Means by the Competent
Authority.
During the course of or before or after the examination, if a candidate is found indulged in any
of the practices as defined above, he/she shall be deemed to have used Unfair means
practice(s) and booked under UNFAIRMEANS (U.F.M.) Case.
A candidate who is found to have adopted an act of unfair means, may, in addition to
rendering himself/herself liable to criminal prosecution, be liable
• To be disqualified from the examination / scrutiny for which he/she is a candidate
• To be debarred either permanently or for a specified period from any exam or
recruitment conducted by SCI.
• To be terminated from service if he/she is already in Govt. service.
6. General Instructions
1) Information such as his/ her Name, Contact details/ Address, E mail ID, Category, PwD Status,
Educational Qualification details, Date of Birth, etc. provided by the candidate in the Online
Application Form shall be treated as FINAL.
2) In case it is found at any time in future that the Candidate has used / uploaded the photograph
and signature of someone else in his/ her Application Form / Admit Card or he/she has tampered
his/her Admit Card / result, these acts of the candidate shall be treated as Unfair Means (UFM).
3) In case, it is detected at any stage of recruitment that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility
norms and/or that he/she has suppressed/twisted or truncated any material facts, his/her
candidature shall stand cancelled without giving any reasons and notice to the candidate
concerned. If any of these shortcomings is detected even after appointment, their services may
be liable to be terminated and he/she may be liable for criminal proceedings.
4) In case a candidate is found providing incorrect information or the identity is proved to
be false at any time in the future, the candidate may face penal action as per the law
applicable.
5) No request for refund of fee once remitted by the candidate will be entertained under any
circumstances. Candidates shall appear in the examination at their own cost at the allotted

Examination Centre on the Date / Shift and time indicated in their respective Admit Cards. The
SCI shall not be responsible for any loss/ injury caused to the candidates in course of appearing
in the examination.
6) Application Form of candidates who do not fulfill the eligibility criteria shall be treated as
rejected.
7) It is to be noted that if a candidate has been allowed to appear in the JCA Recruitment
Examination, it does not imply that the candidate's eligibility has been verified. It does not vest
any right with a candidate for appointment. The eligibility is subject to final verification by the
Competent Authority. The candidate shall satisfy his/her eligibility before applying and shall
be personally responsible in case he/she is not eligible to apply as per the given eligibility
criteria on the last date for submission of Application Form.
8) If any incomplete or false information is given, then the candidate will be solely responsible
for the same and on the basis of false and incomplete information, the Application Form shall
be rejected at any stage of the selection without giving any reasons/notice. On furnishing any
false certificates or indicating wrong category/sub-category regarding caste in the application
form or in case of any other default, SCI may reject the candidature at any stage of the selection
and may take all necessary action.
9) Furnishing of false, wrong or inaccurate information may lead to cancellation of the candidature
of the Applicant and /or his / her Result, and even prosecution in appropriate cases.
10) Canvassing in any form and use of unfair means (U.F.M.) during the examinations shall
disqualify the candidature of the applicant.
11) Selection of the candidates shall be purely on the merit basis in a transparent way. Hence, the
Candidate has to be careful of touts, who promise to get them selected unlawfully on illegal
considerations/means.
12) Candidate must have disclosed the details in the Online Application Form, if any criminal
proceeding has been initiated against him/her or First Information Report (FIR) is lodged
against him/her. Concealment of any fact(s) may disqualify and entail cancellation of his/her
candidature.
13) The Result of the Candidates who indulge in Unfair Means (UFM) Practices shall not be
declared (and may be cancelled).
14) Information uploaded on the website shall remain for a specific period only and shall not be
provided to the candidate or any other person. Therefore, the candidates are advised to
download the uploaded information and keep the same with them for future reference. Factual
information under R.T.I. Act shall be provided only after declaration of final result. Inferential
questions or Speculative questions shall not be answered.
15) No application with regard to marks scored by the candidates shall be entertained as the same
shall be made available on the official website in due course of time after declaration of
final result.
16) The candidates have to strictly follow the Instructions regarding COVID-19 detailed in the
Admit Card.
17) Notwithstanding above Advisory and Instructions to the candidates, the SCI reserves the right
to cancel/restrict/enlarge/modify/alter the recruitment process, if needed, without issuing any
notice.
