Group 3rd grade. Section “A” Topic: The farm animals

Objective: By the end of the class, students will be able to mention 5-8 of the words (duck, hen, rooster, turkey, cow,
horse, goat, and pig.) at the moment of talking with a classmate about their 5 favorite farm animals with 90% of
accuracy.
CLASS DEVELOPMENT

PRESENTATION
Firstly, the teacher is going to greet
students.
Then, she is going to ask students to
listen to a song called “Old McDonald’s
had a farm.” And write in their notebooks
the sounds of animals they have listened
to in the song, for example, “mu, oik,
cuak, etc.”
Warm-up/Schemata
5 minutes - Speaker
Activation:
“WRITE THE SOUNDS” When the song has finished, the teacher
will ask the students which sounds could - cellphone
they listen to in the song.
The teacher will say the name of the
animal that produces each sound
mentioned by students, for example, if a
student mentions that he listened to
“cuak, cuak”, the teacher will say, It´s the
sound of a duck.”

The teacher will paste on the board a
paper with the topic and will say students
that the topic of the day is “farm
animals”.
Then, the teacher will explain what farm
means.
The teacher will ask students if they
know some farm animals, if they say
some in Spanish the teacher will translate
them into English.
After that, the teacher will present the
images of eight farm animals (duck, hen,
rooster, turkey, cow, horse, goat, and
pig.) one by one and will paste them on
the board with their corresponding name.
The teacher will say the correct
pronunciation of each farm animal and
will ask them to repeat it after her at least
four times.

The teacher will provide students
with a worksheet with images of the
same eight farm animals learned in
the class. (duck, hen, rooster, turkey,
cow, horse, goat, and pig.)
The teacher will paste the name of the
animals in disorder on the board.
5 minutes Controlled practice: - Worksheets
“WORKSHEET” Students will have to choose the
correct name of each animal and

Then, the teacher will check students’
worksheets and if they have
committed mistakes, the teacher will
correct them.
Finally, the teacher will ask “What´s
the first animal? And so on with all
the exercises.
The teacher will provide students with a
page; the page will have a table with two
sides, in the first one students will have to
write the name of their favorite animals,
and in the second one their not favorite
animals.
8 minutes Free practice: Then, the teacher will mention animals - Prints
“PHYSICAL and the student who wrote the name of

The same process will be repeated with
the eight farm animals.
PRODUCTION
The teacher will ask students to take
images of their five favorite farm animals
from a box.

Then, students will have to look for a

Each student will have to give his five
favorite images to his/her partner.
Each student will have to show one by
one, images to their classmates, and the
other student will have to mention the
name of each one of them.
Then, the other student will have to show
the images and his/her partner mention
the name of the animals.
The teacher will say animal sounds and
students will have to say which animals
2 minutes Wrap up -
produce those sounds.
