What is migration?
Migration is the movement of people from their place of
origin to another place where they settle permanently
or temporarily.

People have always migrated, but migration


increased in recent years because of globalisation.
Why people migrate?
1 Economic migration
Economic migrants are mainly young people that emigrate from countries
with limited economic opportunities to places where there are more
opportunities.
Usually are unskilled or low-skilled workers who move from less-developed
countries to developed countries

Can sometimes lead people to look for a safer place to live. Wars in
countries have produced large movements of refugees.
