INTRODUCTION
Surface pollution by insoluble liquids (oil, grease and
hydrocarbons) can result in a significant reduction in oxygen
transfer in water.
Preserving the quality of runoff water is thus of considerable
importance to the natural environment.
Techneau has developed a complete range of oil interceptors
in steel, the HydroGD range.

Techneau's oil separators meet the design criteria specified by the European standards NF EN858-1 et NF EN858-2 and
can thus be CE marked. When proposing Techneau equipment, you have the guarantee of a quality product meeting current
legislation.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE
The oil separator working principle is based upon the difference in density between various substances:
- Gravitational separation for heavy matter (effluent, gravel, sand, etc.)
- flotation for light liquids (hydrocarbons)

Oil interceptors are composed of the following elements:

- A sludge compartment designed to capture heavy matter, dimensioning for standard models 100 x nominal size.
- A separating compartment equipped with a coalescing filter. The turbulent flow allows the light liquid droplets to merge
together through the filter. This increases their volume and thus boosts the flotation.
The efficiency of the separation is 99,9 % and guarantees a discharge inferior to 5 mg/l, according to the testing conditions
of the norm NF EN858-1. The separator it is then said of “class 1”.
This filter is a cross-linked BIODEK lamellar cell.

- An automatic closure device : Positioned downstream the separation chamber of light liquids, it prevents any accidental
release of decanted free hydrocarbon into the downstream network. It is equipped with a siphon bend linked to a float
calibrated in accordance with the density of the light liquids to be trapped.
