Pre-Trip Acquisition and Preparation:
_____Refer to Service Letter parts list or reference guides below for parts needed
Note: Ensure you bring the 4G cellular device
_____Install Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat® ET) 2019A or newer on laptop
_____Download the latest required PL641v2 firmware file(s) (586-5325 or newer https://sis.cat.com/)
_____Download the latest required PLE601 firmware file(s) (2019.1 or newer https://sis.cat.com/)
_____CAT Communication Adapter 3 (538-5051)
Note: An Ethernet (425-6889) service tool or a standard Cat5 cable is required to flash the radio
_____9-pin & 14-pin service cable (457-6114) 9-Pin Data Link Ethernet Cable (425-6889)
Note: Refer to schematic to determine 9-pin or 14-pin receptacle is equipped on asset
_____Verify if any additional Tools are needed (review reference guides below)

On-site Installation Instructions:
*Ensure Network Manger updated to 2019+ Firmware Prior to Swap*
_____ Step 1: Connect to Asset via Services Connector Using Cat® ET. Generate a pre-device-swap
Product Status Report (PSR)
_____ Step 2: Power down asset and switch master disconnect to “OFF”
Note: Refer to applicable safety instructions in reference guides listed above
_____ Step 3: Remove Product Link radio that is being replaced and cap any unused wiring
Note: Radio being replaced must be removed to avoid conflicting data communication
_____ Step 4: Install replacement Product Link radio
Note: Refer to PL641v2 REHS9111 installation guide)
_____ Step 5: Connect to asset with Cat® ET to verify operation of new PL device and firmware version
Note: If firmware updates are needed proceed to the WinFlash section of ET to update
Note: An Ethernet (425-6889) service tool or a standard Cat5 cable is required to flash the radio
_____ Step 6: Using WinFlash update the Network Manager firmware to 2019.1 or newer
Note: An Ethernet cable or a standard Cat5 cable is required to flash the Network Manager
_____ Step 7: Using Cat® ET, ensure Service Meter Hours (SMH) are correct
_____ Step 8: Using Cat® ET, Generate a post-swap Product Status Report (PSR)
_____ Step 9: Ensure connection to back office/web through DSP or Service Dashboard prior to leaving asset
