The commitment of the department of education to literacy and numeracy programs is

commendable, and the celebration of the 2023 Pambansang Buwan at Araw ng Pagbasa
(pbap) reflects a strong dedication to promoting reading among learners. The chosen
theme, "Pagbasa: Pag-asa sa Matatag na Kinabukasan," beautifully underscores the
pivotal role of reading in shaping a resilient future for students.

The involvement of the secretary of education and the vice president of the republic of the
philippines in presiding over this year's araw ng pagbasa celebration adds significance and
prominence to the event. Their participation serves as a powerful endorsement of the
importance of literacy and reading in the educational agenda.

The leadership of the bureau of learning delivery (bld) in organizing the program,
particularly under the theme "Pagbasa: Pag-asa sa Matatag na Kinabukasan," is crucial.
By providing literacy programs that align with the matatag agenda, the bld aims to enable
both public and private schools to actively participate in the reading celebration.

The program's primary goal of increasing students' enjoyment of reading and enhancing
their comprehension skills aligns with the broader objective of developing critical thinking.
The focus on literacy as a foundation for the matatag agenda reflects a strategic approach
to nurturing well-rounded learners with strong cognitive abilities.

The involvement of faculty and staff, along with learners, in spreading the literacy program
of the matatag agenda through massive reading is a commendable initiative. The success
of this activity demonstrates the collective commitment to the advocacy of helping learners
enjoy reading and comprehend the material effectively.

The inauguration of the month-long celebration at Opol Central School on november 7,

2023, immediately following the flag-raising ceremony, sets a positive tone. The school
principal II, Mr, Samy T. Igloria instructed every teaching and non-teaching staff,

including every school organization such as SELG and YES-O to create their own
innovations to facilitate the conduct of the said activity.

The involvement of key figures such as Mr. Samy T. Igloria the school principal and
assisted by Mrs. Jean L. Ablanque, Master Teacher II, together with the SELG coordinator
Mrs. Cleofe N. Belangoy and with the participation of yes-o coordinator Mr. Carlo J.
Madera Teacher I, furthermore, with the guidance our school Phil-IRI coordinator Mrs.
Jenelou Tagle, Master Teacher I adds leadership and direction and give significant impact
in the implementation of the 2023 Pambansang Buwan at Araw ng Pagbasa celebration at
Opol Central School.

The diverse range of activities planned for the month-long celebration demonstrates a
comprehensive approach to promoting various facets of literacy. The advisers were task to
create a fun filled activities of reading session with the learners. For the kindergarten to
grade 3, they selected a piece that were appropriate with their learner, for the grade 4 to 6,
most of the teachers did were sabayang pag-basa with this they can also assess the
reading level of their learners.

The well-rounded nature of the planned events indicates a thoughtful consideration of

different aspects of literacy, catering to various interests and learning styles. Overall, the
planned activities showcase a commitment to creating a dynamic and engaging
environment that not only promotes reading but also encourages creativity, discussion,
and a sense of community among the learners. The involvement of different stakeholders
and the diverse range of activities contribute to the richness and effectiveness of the
celebration.
