PROCEDURE:
Step 1: Clean and sort the seashells
Start by cleaning the seashells by washing them with warm water and soap to remove any
dirt or sand. Then, sort them by size, color, and shape to help with the design process.
Step 2: Get an illustration board and draw a butterfly
Get an illustration board and draw a butterfly. We draw 3 butterflies and the sizes are from
small, medium, and large.
Step 3: Plan the Design
Using your sorted seashells, plan out the design you want to create on illustration board. You
can create a pattern, a simple shape, or a more complex design. Use tweezers to help with the
placement of smaller shells.
Step 4: Glue the Seashells
Once you have a plan for the design, start gluing the seashells onto the frame or shadow box
using a glue gun. Apply a small amount of glue to the back of each shell and press it onto the frame.
Continue adding shells until the design is complete. Make sure to let the glue dry completely before
moving the frame.
Step 5: Paint the Seashells
We painted the seashells with the colors white, pink, and purple to add extra colors to the
seashells.
REFLECTION
Creating seashell wall decorations can be a fun and fulfilling activity that allows you to
express your creativity and love for the beach. It is pretty enjoyable especially that the shells that we
use are cute little seashells. As I reflect on this process, several thoughts come to mind.
First, I realize that making seashell wall decorations requires patience and attention to detail.
The process of collecting and arranging the shells can be time-consuming and requires a steady hand
to ensure that the shells are arranged in an aesthetically pleasing manner. Secondly, I appreciate the
beauty and uniqueness of each shell. Each shell has its own shape, size, and color, which makes the
overall decoration even more special. It's amazing to think about the journey each shell has taken
before it ended up in your hands, and how it has its own story to tell. Furthermore, creating seashell
wall decorations allows you to bring a piece of the beach into your home. It's a great way to remind
yourself of the peacefulness and beauty of the ocean and can serve as a calming and relaxing visual
reminder. Finally, I realize that making seashell wall decorations can also be a sustainable activity.
Collecting shells that have washed up on the shore is a way to repurpose something that would
otherwise be discarded and contribute to ocean pollution. It's a great way to appreciate the natural
beauty of the beach while also taking steps to protect it.
Overall, making seashell wall decorations is a wonderful activity that allows you to express
your creativity while also appreciating the beauty of the ocean. It's a sustainable and calming activity
that can bring a little piece of the beach into your home.
