1. Explain five (5) importance of play in our kindergarten classrooms. 10 pts *

Play is essential to learning for all kindergarteners. It is important beacuse;


- It develops body strength.
- Build a feeling of empathy, creativity and collaboration.
- Helps children learn how to communicate with others.
- Children learn to share their toys with others.
- Develops social relationship with his/her peers which is important to child's
persistence in school .

2. Identify one or two rights of the child that was neglected during the pandemic and what possible solution
or remedy can be done ? 10 pts.
Two rights of the child that was neglected during the pandemic;
1. Right to Education: Many children unable to access quality education due to school
closures and lack of resources for remote learning.
Solution:
Ensuring Digital Connectivity: government provide devices and internet access to low
income families to facilitate learning.
Supporting Alternative Learning Deliveries: government develop method of learning
through different modalities like, printed module, digital
module, online learning, and radio and tv-based
educational program.

2. Right to Protection: Pandemic has increased the risk of children facing various form of
abuse including online exploitation.
Solution:
Raising Awareness: Authorities and other government agencies should conduct
awareness campaign, training, to educate children, parents and
teachers about child protection and online safety.

3. Identify what DAP is and explain at least 3 principles of DAP. 10 pts.

DAP refers to teaching strategies, materials and approaches that designed to meet the individual needs
and abilities of children at different stages of development.

3 Principles of DAP
1. Principle of Individualization: Recognizing and respecting each child's unique strengths,
interests, and needs, and adapting teaching strategies
accordingly.

2. Principle of Active learning: Providing hands-on, experiential, and interactive learning


opportunities that engage children's senses and promote
active exploration and discovery.

3. Principle of Play-based learning: Recognizing the importance of play in children's


development and incorporating play as a central
component of the learning process.

4. List down at least 10 DAP practices you are doing in your classroom and give short description of each. 10

10 DAP practices I used in my classroom.
1. Establishing Routines - setting consistent routines helps children feel secure and know
what to expect in the classroom.
2. Building positive relationships - fostering trust and open communication.
3. Active Learning - hands on activities that promotes active learning like molding of clay,
and alphabet collage.
4. Integrated Learning Experiences - like for example asking question like: What did you
see on the road while you were walking to school? and
integrate to my lesson.
5. Differentiate Instructions - provide different instructional strategies and materials.
6. Incorporate Technology - utilizing educational technology like smart tv to provide
opportunities for interactive learning.
7. Establish Positive Classroom Culture - like using positive discipline.
8. Assessment - use various formative assessments to gather information about children's progress.
9. Use Effective Questioning Techniques - ask open-ended questions that develop critical
thinking.

It is important to be aware of the philosophical foundations of curriculum because;
1. Clarity of Goals and Values - helps educators understand their goals, and determine the
the driving purpose of education.

2. Guide for Decision-Making - philosophy helps in answering questions such as what


schools are for what subjects are important, how students
should learn and what material and methods should be used.

2. Justify why we need to implement individually appropriate instruction and in what instances can
this be done?
Implementing individually appropriate instructions allows teachers or educators to address
individual learning needs, promote engagement, and foster student success.
In can be implemented through differentiated instructions and programs for all students.

For example, students may be given options for demonstrating his/her understanding through
written assignments, presentations, or creative projects.

3. What are the different ways of organizing your environment for teaching and learning?
Different Ways to Organize Environment for Teaching and Learning;
* Create distinct areas in the classroom.
Example: reading corner with comfortable set and variety of books.
* Visual Displays: Display students’ works and showcase their achievements.
* Organization and Storage: classroom should be well organized with proper storage
using labeled bins, shelves, and cabinets to keep
materials and resources easily accessible.
* Flexible Seating Arrangement - provide variety of seating arrangement that
promotes comfort and engagement.
* Technology Integration: used smart tv and laptop to promote active learning.
* Proper Ventilation - to ensure there is constant air changes in the classroom.

Two Ways of Giving Authentic Assessment to our Kindergarten Students
1. Portfolios - portfolios are a collection of student's works that provide comprehensive
view of learning progress. It includes artworks, quizzes, and tests.
Teachers can assess the student's progress by analyzing the portfolio's
content and identify areas where the child needs improvement.

2. Checklist - In Kindergarten, we have the ECD Checklist. The purpose of administering


the ECD checklist is to evaluate Kindergarten learners' competencies in
different domains. Likewise, this will help teachers in identifying learners'
capabilities and limitations.

5. Explain at least two types of curriculums.


Two Types of Curriculums
1. Subject-Centered Curriculum: This type of curriculum focuses on specific
subjects or
disciplines and organizes learning around them. It follows a traditional
approach,
where subjects like math, science, language arts, and social studies are
taught
separately.

2. Learner-Centered Curriculum: This type of curriculum places the learner at


the center of
the educational experience. It takes into account students' interests, needs,
and
abilities, and emphasizes active learning, critical thinking, and personal
reflection.
