Writing Historical Essays

Crafting an essay on the subject of "Writing Historical Essays" can be a challenging endeavor,
requiring a delicate balance between historical accuracy, analytical depth, and engaging narrative. The
difficulty lies not only in the extensive research needed to gather relevant information but also in the
synthesis of that information into a cohesive and compelling narrative.

One of the primary challenges is navigating through the vast sea of historical data to identify
pertinent facts and events that contribute meaningfully to the essay's thesis. It demands a keen eye
for detail, critical thinking skills, and the ability to discern between primary and secondary sources,
evaluating their reliability and significance.

Furthermore, the writing process involves the art of seamlessly weaving together historical events,
interpretations, and analyses into a coherent and persuasive argument. Striking the right balance
between providing enough context for readers to comprehend the historical background and
presenting a unique perspective or argument can be a complex task.

The challenge extends to ensuring that the essay maintains an objective tone, avoiding biases or
anachronisms that could compromise the integrity of the historical analysis. Achieving this requires a
nuanced understanding of historical context and a meticulous approach to language and
interpretation.

Editing and revising are integral components of the essay-writing process, as historical essays
demand clarity, precision, and coherence. Ensuring that the narrative flows smoothly, transitions are
seamless, and the overall structure enhances the reader's understanding adds an additional layer of
complexity.

In conclusion, composing an essay on "Writing Historical Essays" is a multifaceted task that requires
a synthesis of research skills, analytical thinking, and effective communication. Successfully
navigating through these challenges is essential to produce a compelling and academically rigorous

Critical Appreciation Of Judith Decapitating Holofernes
From Whitney Chadwick third edition of Women, Art, and Society, the piece of artwork
that engaged me deeply from this book is the 17th Century Italian Baroque painting
Judith Decapitating Holofernes c. 1618 by Italian artist Artemisia Gentileschi. This
painting is oil on canvas painting in the style of classical Italian Baroquecharacteristics of
chiaroscuro, dramatic realism, naturalistic, and rich vivid colors. What I see
physically at first from the painting is at the center of the work a violent action is
being played out by two young women using a sword to behead a man s head while he
s in bed. I can see the arm strength of Judith and her maidservant in the way they re
holding the man down to keep him still while their killing him and in the way the artist
arranges the women s arms. I also see the amazement, terror, and vulnerability Holofernes
is feeling by the way Artemisia painted in such detail in the look in his unnaturally wide
eyes due to shock, his mouth is open like he s either screaming for help or in pain, and
how his body is contorted in an uncomfortable arrangement almost like he s trying to get
up to stop this assault. What mostly draws me and holds my attention to this painting is
the raw intensified emotion Artemisia can show of the three characters in this dramatic
climatic scene, how theatrical she is with the blood when Judith cuts into Holofernes
neck, raw emotions, and how to me other paintings seem so tame compared to Artemisia
Judith. I
In Addition To Saving And Bequest Channels, The Proposed
In addition to saving and bequest channels, the proposed model in this paper identifies
two additional channel of child labor. These are heterogeneity in child s ability, which
causes heterogeneity in the cost of education, and differential future expectation of
parents depending on their socio economic background. I attempt to capture these four
channels using a number of variables. For saving, I use income of household head and
for bequest, I use whether the household owns any house. Here income of household
head may be under reported or may have some types of measurement errors, so, we use
several other variables to instrument it. Ownership of a house is used to capture bequest
as housing price is very high almost across the country... Show more content on

Secondly, the socio economic group in which the household head belongs to is also
crucial in forming household head s expectation. Thus, I use household head s gender
($Head_female$), Household head s sector of employment ($Sector$), religion of
household head ($Religion$), and the location of household ($Urban$). Using these
variables I estimate the following models: Where $y$ is child s working hours per day,
$extbf{X}={Urban, Sector, Female, Head\_literacy, Religion, House,$ $ Head\_income,
Head\_female, Dropout\_ability, Dropout\_cost, Dropout\_income}$, $extbf{Z}={Urban,
Head \_sector,$ $ Female, Head \_literacy, House, Land, Num \_hhchld, Head \_literacy,
Head\_age, Dropout\_ability,$\ $Dropout\_cost, Religion, Dropout\_income, TV,
Head\_female}$, $Q_{N}(eta) = g_{N}(eta) W_{N}g_{N}(eta)$,
$g_{N}(eta)=frac{1}{N} sum_{i=1}^{N}Z epsilon$, and $W$ is a $Nimes N$ positive
semi definite matrix. In addition, I also estimate logit and probit model of child labor,
where I attempt to estimate the probabilities of being a child labor with respect to the
variables mentioned above. Results of these models are shown in the following table:

In the above table second column reports the OLS estimates. Dummy $Urban$ has
positive coefficient, which indicates that child labor on an average work 0.4 hour more in
The Effects of Concentration on Osmosis
Introduction:
This experiment was used to examine the hypothesis that: Osmosis is dependent on the
concentrations of the substances involved.

Diffusion is the passage of solute molecules from an area of high concentration to an area
of low concentration (Campbell Reece, 2005). An example is ammonia diffusing
throughout a room. A solute is one of two components in a chemical solution. The solute
is the substance dissolved in the solution. The solvent, the other component, is any liquid
in which the solute can be dissolved (Anderson, 2002). Diffusion requires little or no
energy because molecules are always randomly moving; this is due to their kinetic
energy. Diffusion occurs only when there is an imbalance in the areas of ... Show more

The beaker was then filled partially with distilled water; 1 ml of potassium iodide was
then added, and the solution was tested for the presence of glucose. This data was
recorded in table 1 on the data sheet along with the starting color of both the potassium
iodide solution and the glucose/starch solution. The dialysis tubing was then submersed
into the beaker containing the potassium iodide solution, and set aside for 30 minutes to
allow maximum diffusion.

After the 30 minutes, the color was observed and recorded on the data sheet. The
dialysis tubing was removed from the beaker and a small slice was made, we then used
a glucose indicator strip to test for the presence of glucose, along with the solution in the
beaker. The results were then recorded in table 1on the data sheet.

Material for osmosis experiment:

Hand out from the Natural Science Establishment, six dialysis tubing, six plastic cups,
distilled water, 0.2 M, 0.4 M, 0.6 M, 0.8 M, and 1.0 M samples of a sucrose solution,
paper towels, and a scale.

Procedure:

Six plastic cups were obtained and labeled 0.2 M, 0.4 M, 0.6 M, 0.8 M, and 1.0 M.
Next, each of the six dialysis tubes were knotted on one end and filled with the sucrose
samples, and then tied off. These samples were then dried by patting with a paper
towel, weighed and placed into their corresponding cups. The mass of each sample was
recorded in table 2 on the data sheet. Each cup was then
