NOTES TO THE STUDENT
This module is a part of the series of Modules for flexible learning
spearheaded by the Office of the Director of Instruction and the Center for Teaching
Excellence, West Visayas State University.

training, exercise drills and independent or self-directed PAs, fitness levels will be enhanced.
In conjunction with this, fitness levels, PA participation and dietary/eating
patterns are evaluated to monitor one’s progress and achievement of personal fitness and
dietary goals.
There are four (4) lessons in this module. They are listed as follows:
Lesson 1: Dance Terminologies 1. Dance Terms
2. Symbols and Signs
3. Dance Abbreviations
Lesson 2: Five Fundamental Positions 1. Feet Positions
of the Arms and Feet 2. Arm Positions
Lesson 3: Dance Formations
Lesson 4: Dance Positions

LESSON 3. DANCE FORMATIONS
A formation is basically the shape your dancers move within. You can bring to
life interesting and powerful pictures by exploring the use of formations in a creative way.
These dance formations are representative of the dances in this module. There are many
other variations. When it comes to formation in your choreography, again, it's about doing
what feels right for you as a creative and a choreographer.
