Narrative Report on School Training Workshop on the Strengthening /

Functionality of the Child Training Committee (CPC) and Learner Protection in
School

This narrative report contains an overview of the recently concluded School

Training Workshop on the Strengthening / Functionality of the Child Training
Committee (CPC) and Learner Protection in School. The session began with Dr.
Charito, the school principal, by checking up on the teachers and their well-
being, as well as reiterating significant events that are about to happen in the
school, reaffirming that it is heading towards better and greater heights.

During the school training workshop at Sta. Barbara Elementary School

(SBES), Ma’am Ren, ESP coordinator, reminded the teachers of the need to put in
place a strong child safety policy. A thorough review of the changing nature of
education and the laws governing such matters were deeply highlighted at the
session, emphasizing the increasing demand for a well-curated and proactive
strategy to protect students' welfare. The SLAC focused on the important role
teachers play in fostering a secure and supportive environment for students on
school grounds, reiterating their position as forefront activists for children, ensuring
that SBES is a safe space for the learners and all other stakeholders thereof.

Ma’am Janet, the guidance counselor, further explored he policies'

guidelines, which included notable signs of misdemeanor, keeping information
private, and reporting any concerns to the appropriate authorities. She added
the critical components of a successful child safety strategy, the significance of
clear and coherent instructions, means and ways to accommodate future issues
and concerns, and collective efforts among all personnel involved defining a
neutral and established ground to addressing behavioral risks. The SLAC
emphasized that a well-executed child protection strategy covers the school and
its employees against any legal action while also safeguarding the children.

Sir Ceddi, one of the SLAC facilitators, solicited ideas and experiences from
the group that are worthy of emulation through an interactive conversation. The
teachers committed to applying the knowledge acquired from the SLAC to their
everyday practices and reaffirmed their commitment to making child protection
a top priority. SBES has demonstrated its unwavering support and dedication to
providing a safe and nurturing learning environment for all children entrusted to
its care.
