43. (i) What is photoelectric Emission?
(ii) Write the Einstein’s photoelectric equation and explain the erms.
(iii) Draw graphs showing (a) variation of photoelectric current with intensity of light and
(b) variation of photoelectric current with anode potential for different intensities of light.
44. (a) Distinguish between p-type and n-type semiconductor.
(b) With a neat circuit diagram explain how I-V characteristics can be drawn for a diode in
forward bias. How is dynamic resistance rd calculated from the forward I-V characteristics.

VI. Answer any TWO of the following questions. Each carries 5 Marks 2×5M= 10M
45. Three charges each equal to +4nC are placed at the three corners of a square of side 2cm.
Find the electric field at the fourth corner.
46. In the following circuit, find the current I.

47. A sinusoidal voltage of peak value 283 V and frequency 50Hz is applied to a series LCR
circuit in which R  3 , L  25.48 mH and C  786  F . Find
(a) Impedance of the circuit.
(b) The phase difference between the voltage across the source and the current
(c) Power factor
48. A needle 1 cm high is placed at a distance of 0.1 m from a convex mirror of focal length
0.05 m. Determine the position and size of the image.
