THE WEDDING MARCH
1 The Bride Groom: Jesus joy
2 The Bridal’s train - cannon in D
3 The Bride - organ violin recital - How far I’ll go - Auli’i Cravalho
A OPENING HYMN: All people that on earth do dwell- old hundredth
1 All people that on earth do dwell,
sing to the LORD with cheerful voice.
Serve him with joy, his praises tell,
come now before him and rejoice!
2 Know that the LORD is God indeed;
he formed us all without our aid.
We are the flock he surely feeds,
the sheep who by his hand were made.
3 O enter then his gates with joy,
within his courts his praise proclaim!
Let thankful songs your tongues employ.
O bless and magnify his name!
4 Because the LORD our God is good,
his mercy is forever sure.
His faithfulness at all times stood
and shall from age to age endure.
Introit: HYMN: COME DOWN O LOVE DIVINE - Tune: Down Ampney (All
Kneeling)
1 Come down, O Love divine,
seek thou this soul of mine,
and visit it with thine own ardor glowing;
O Comforter, draw near,
within my heart appear,
and kindle it, thy holy flame bestowing.
7
2 O let it freely burn,
till earthly passions turn
to dust and ashes in its heat consuming;
and let thy glorious light
shine ever on my sight,
and clothe me round, the while my path illumning.
3 And so the yearning strong,
with which the soul will long,
shall far outpass the power of human telling;
for none can guess its grace,
till Love create a place
wherein the Holy Spirit makes a dwelling
B INTRODUCTION
(The congregation standing as the bride and the bridegroom stand before the Priest
and the Priest says:)
Minister: We have come together in the presence of God to witness and to celebrate
the Marriage of IBUKUNOLUWA and TINUADE to ask His blessing on them and
to share in their joy. Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself was a guest at a wedding in Cana
of Galilee and blessed this way of life, and through His Spirit He is with us now.
The Scripture teaches us that marriage is a gift of God in creation and a means of His
grace. A holy mystery in which man and woman become one flesh. It is God’s purpose
that, as husband and wife give themselves to each other in love throughout their lives,
they shall be united in their love as Christ is united with His Church.
Marriage is given primarily that husband and wife may comfort and help each other,
living faithfully together in need and in plenty, in sorrow and in joy; it is also given
that with delight and tenderness they may know each other and through the joy of their
bodily union, may strengthen the union of their hearts and lives. Lastly, it is given that
they may have children and be blessed in caring for them and bringing them up in
accordance with God’s will to His praise and glory.
In marriage, husband and wife belong to one another and they begin a new life
together in the community. This is the way of life thatall should honour and must not
be undertaken carelessly, lightly, or selfishly, but reverently, responsibly and after
serious thoughts, into this way of life IBUKUNOLUWA and TINUADE come now to
8
be joined. If any one of you can show a just cause why they will not lawfully be
married, you must declare it now or else hereafter hold your peace. (If there is no
impediment declared the minister continues)
C CHARGE AND DECLARATION
The Priest says to the couple:
IBUKUNOLUWA BOLUWATIFE and TINUADE OLOLADE, the vows you are
about to take are to be made in the name of God and I charge you both as you will
answer before God, who is the Judge of all, who knows all the secrets of our hearts; that
if either of you knows a reason why you may not lawfully marry, you must declare it
now. (If there is no impediment declared, the minister continues.)
The Priest says to the Bridegroom:
The Priest: IBUKUNOLUWA BOLUWATIFE of your own free choice, will you take
TINUADE OLOLADE to be your wife?
The Bridegroom: I WILL.
The Priest: Will you love her, comfort her, honour and protect her, in sickness and in
health, In poverty and prosperity and forsaking all others, be faithful to her, as long as
you both shall live?
The Bridegroom: I WILL.
The Priest says to the bride:
The Priest: TINUADE OLOLADE, of your own free choice, will you take
IBUKUNOLUWA BOLUWATIFE to be your husband?
The Bride: I WILL.
The Priest: Will you love him, comfort him, honour and obey him, in sickness and in
health, in poverty and prosperity, and forsaking all others, be faithful to him as long as
you both shall live?
Bride: I WILL.

E THE MARRIAGE
The Priest:
Who gives this woman to be married to this man?
(The bride’s father or his representative shall hand over the bride by the right hand to
the Priest.)
The Bride’s Father: I DO.
(The Priest, receiving the bride from her father, shall cause the man to take the woman
by her right hand, facing each other the bridegroom says:
Bridegroom: I, IBUKUNOLUWA BOLUWATIFE take you TINUADE
OLOLADE to be my wife to have and to hold from this day forward for better for
worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, until we
are parted by death according to God’s holy law; this is my Solemn vow.
They loose hands.
(The Bride takes the Bridegroom’s right Hand in hers’ and says:)
The Bride: I, TINUADE OLOLADE take you, IBUKUNOLUWA BOLUWATIFE
to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward; for better for worse, for
richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish till death do us part,
according to God’s holy law; this is my solemn vow.
The Priest: And what token do you share to represent your love and commitment to
each other?
The Priest receives the ring and holding them up, he says:
The Priest: The ring is the symbol of wholeness and perfection. It is made of gold
which is a precious and durable metal. What better representation of your feelings for
each other!
(The Priest then bless the Ring, saying):
Heavenly Father, by Your blessing, let these rings be to IBUKUNOLUWA
BOLUWATIFE and TINUADE OLOLADE a symbol of unending love and
faithfulness, to remind them of the vows and covenants which they have made this day,
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Bridegroom places the ring on the tip of the fourth finger of the bride’s left hand
and holding it there, he says:
11
The Bridegroom: I give you this ring as a sign of our marriage and a token of my love
and fidelity to you. With my body I honour you, all that I am, I give to you and all that
I have, I share with you, within the love of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
They loose hands and the bride places a ring at the tip of the fourth finger of the man
and holding it there, she says:
The Bride: I give you this ring as a sign of our marriage and a token of my love and
fidelity to you. With my body I honour you, all that I am, I give to you and all that I
have, I share with you, within the love of God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.
The Bride and the Bridegroom kneel while the congregation remains standing.
The Priest: Eternal God, Creator and preserver of all, giver of spiritual grace and
Author of everlasting life: send Your blessing upon IBUKUNOLUWA
BOLUWATIFE and TINUADE OLOLADE whom we bless in Your name, that
living, faithfully together they may fulfil the vows and covenants which they have
made of which the rings given and received are token and pledge, and may ever
remain in perfect love and peace together and live according to Your laws; through
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Priest: Now that IBUKUNOLUWA BOLUWATIFE and TINUADE OLOLADE
have given their consent and made their vows to each other before God and before this
congregation with the joining of hands and the giving and receiving of rings, in the
name of God I declare that they are husband and wife.
The Priest joins their right hands together with his stole and says:
Priest: Those whom God has joined together, let no man put asunder. Amen.

Priest: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit bless, preserve and keep
you, the Lord pour upon you the riches of His grace that you may faithfully live

The Parents say to the couple: MAY GOD BLESS YOU BOTH IN JESUS

The Priest asks the congregation:
Priest: You, as friends and family, have witnessed this exchange of vows, will you do
all in your power to support this marriage now and in the years ahead?

J BIBLE READING: Matthew 19:3 – 11
3 Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, “Is it lawful for a man to
divorce his wife for just any reason?”
4 And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the
beginning ‘made them male and female,’
5 and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife,
and the two shall become one flesh’?
6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not
man separate.”
7 They said to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put
her away?”
8 He said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce
your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.
9 And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries
another, commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced commits adultery.”
10 His disciples said to Him, “If such is the case of the man with his wife, it is better not to
marry.”
11 But He said to them, “All cannot accept this saying, but only those to whom it has been
given:

L SERMON
M HYMN AFTER SERMON: Life is Great Sing about it
Life is great! So sing about it,
As we can and as we should-
Shop and buses, towns and people,
Village, farmland, field and wood,
Life is great and life is given;
Life is lovely, free and good.
Life is great! What ever happens,
Snow or sunshine, joy or pain,
Hardship, grief or disillusion,
Suffering that I can’t explain
Life is great if someone loves me,
Holds my hand and calls my name.
Love is great! The love of lovers,
Whispered words and longing eyes;
Love that gazes at the cradle
Where a child of loving lies;
Love that lasts when youth has faded,
Bends with age, but never dies.
Love is giving and receiving
17
Boy and girl, or friend with friend;
Love is bearing and forgiving
All the hurts that hate can send;
Love’s the greatest way of living,
Hoping, trusting to the end.
God is great! in Christ He loved us,
As we should, but never can-
Love that suffered, hoped and trusted
When disciples turned and ran,
Love that broke through death forever.
Praise that loving, living Man!

Q SIGNING OF THE MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE
All my hope on God is founded - Tune: Michael
1 All my hope on God is founded;
he doth still my trust renew.
Me through change and chance he guideth,
only good and only true.
God unknown,
he alone calls my heart to be his own.
2 Human pride and earthly glory,
sword and crown betray his trust;
what with care and toil he buildeth,
tower and temple, fall to dust.
But God's power,
hour by hour,is my temple and my tower.
3 God's great goodness aye endureth,
deep his wisdom, passing thought:
splendour, light, and life attend him,
beauty springeth out of naught.
Evermore
from his store
new-born worlds rise and adore.
4 Daily doth th' Almighty giver
bounteous gifts on us bestow;
his desire our soul delighteth,
pleasure leads us where we go.
Love doth stand
at his hand;
joy doth wait on his command.
21
5 Still from earth to God eternal
sacrifice of praise be done,
high above all praises praising
for the gift of Christ his Son.
Christ doth call
one and all:
ye who follow shall not fall.
CHRIST IS MADE THE SURE FOUNDATION - Tune: Regent square and
Westminster abbey
1 Christ is made the sure foundation,
Christ the head and cornerstone,
chosen of the Lord and precious,
binding all the church in one;
holy Zion's help forever,
and her confidence alone.
2 All that dedicated city,
dearly loved of God on high,
in exultant jubilation
pours perpetual melody;
God the One in Three adoring
in glad hymns eternally.
3 To this temple, where we call thee,
come, O Lord of hosts, today:
with thy wonted loving-kindness
hear thy people as they pray;
and thy fullest benediction
shed within its walls alway.
4 Here vouchsafe to all thy servants
what they ask of thee to gain,
what they gain from thee forever
with the blessed to retain,
and hereafter in thy glory
evermore with thee to reign.
5 Laud and honor to the Father,
22
laud and honor to the Son,
laud and honor to the Spirit,
ever Three and ever One,
One in might, and One in glory,
while unending ages run.

T RECESSIONAL HYMN: The Lord’s my shepherd - Tune: Crimond and
Belmont (Gardiner)
1 The Lord's my Shepherd, I'll not want;
he makes me down to lie
in pastures green; he leadeth me
the quiet waters by.
2 My soul he doth restore again,
and me to walk doth make
within the paths of righteousness,
e'en for his own name's sake.
3 Yea, though I walk through death's dark vale,
yet will I fear none ill,
for thou art with me; and thy rod
and staff me comfort still.
4 My table thou hast furnished
in presence of my foes;
my head thou dost with oil anoint,
and my cup overflows.
5 Goodness and mercy all my life
shall surely follow me;
and in God's house forevermore
my dwelling place shall be.
