NARRATIVE REPORT
I. Title: Jamoyaon Elementary School Brigada Eskwela 2023
II. Date: August 14-19, 2023
III. Rationale

The Department of Education fully announced just this August the

implementing guidelines on the Oplan Balik Eskwela (OBE) for this school year
2023-2024. This is to give announcement to all public elementary and secondary
schools in the Philippines on its preparation in their respective schools, the teachers
who are in schools responsible in doing any preparations in the opening of classes.
This also aims to strengthen partnerships among stakeholders’ support in the
community especially in school. The Department of Education also announced 3 key
stages to attain its full preparation. First, the Pre-Implementation Stage which
enables all schools to check and re-check necessary concerns that need to be
addressed before its implementation. Second, the Implementation Stage which gives
time to all public elementary and secondary teachers, employees, and all volunteer
agencies to take part in the pursuit of the school cleanliness and preparedness.
DepEd seeks to encourage all to take part and live the spirit of volunteerism as
stakeholders of the schools. Third, the Post Implementation Stage which gives time
to re-examine what has been prepared to attain its full preparedness for the opening
of classes. Those key stages give ample time to all educators and employees to take
part in its preparation of the new school year ahead.

Moreover, August 21-26, 2023 is the Enrolment week that invites all learners
and parents to enroll their kids before the opening of classes. This gives opportunity
to teachers to examine and assess their learners and somehow give them ideas
what to do for the next school year ahead.
IV. Output/Result

Day 1 (August 14, 2023)

Early morning of August 14, 2023, the first day of B.E., teachers, parents and
stakeholders headed by our school head teacher Maam Matosalem L. Polvorosa
willingly participated in cleaning, removing of unnecessary grasses and fixing the
decorations in our garden.

As what teachers have planned that we will be splitting our day of supervising
the Brigada Eskwela. Day 1 was assigned to Maam Nancelita C. Culpa. She
overlooked on the assignments of parents/volunteers to maximize each area and
time.

Day 2 & Day 3 (August 15-16, 2023)

The teachers of Jamoyaon Elementary School are divided into each task per
day. That is to fully supervise the volunteer parents in taking part in the Brigada and
to have more time in cleaning the classroom. As a newbie in the school, I need to be
adaptive of the change of the environment I now take in. I need to be proactive and
responsive to any concern I can do for the school and the community.

As seen in the Brigada Attendance Sheet, a high volume of volunteer parents

participated on that day. The scheduled parents are the Grades 2 and 3. They
started cleaning the school grounds especially on taking the weeds. The Brigada
started from seven in the morning and ended at four in the afternoon. It was so
surprising the parents’ volunteerism in taking part of the brigada. I really appreciated
how they religiously value time in contributing their selves it for the school. The
weather was fine and so it gave them enough time to do their part. The teachers also
took part in cleaning their respective classrooms in a gradual manner. I also did
some repainting and taking all unnecessary posters that are no longer needed to
repaint the classroom. Together with my husband, we did the repainting with two
other parent-volunteers fixing the classroom roof and ceiling that have destroyed
during super typhoon Odette. Our School Head also supervised in the cleaning of
the school grounds. She made sure also that the parent-volunteers had their snacks
during break time. Since the opening of classes is fast approaching, teachers were
even taking so much time to handle things at the same time.

At four in the afternoon, it can be seen in the pictures below that the school
grounds were significantly cleaned by our dear parent volunteers. The happiness of
the teachers and the parents were even priceless as how parents gave much time to
help for the school.

Day 4 (August 17, 2023)

Maam Indailita S. Sulima managed the Brigada Eskwela for Day 4. She
overlooked on the assignments of parents/volunteers especially the Grade 5 parents
to maximize each area and time. Hon. Alberto Sulima our Barangay Education
Committee chairman helped in repainting the chairs and tables of grade 5
classroom. He also donated snacks for the brigada volunteers.

Day 5 (August 18, 2023)

We are blessed and thankful to the big help given to us by LGU family headed
by Maam Riavida M. Soriaga, PEESO Manager. They donated paints for the
blackboards and extended their help in repainting the walls, baluster fence, Sofa
chairs and signages.

We also have the opportunity to receive another help from DPWH as they
deploy two of their men namely; Mr. Tommy Murillo and Mr. Adonis Ruiz to help in
brush cutting the unwanted grasses surrounding the school.

Day 6 (August 19, 2023)

We are also very thankful to the helped of SIARELCO especially to the

lineman Mr. John Mark Castaῆos and technical staff Mr. Darwin L. Cariaga because
we are one of those lucky schools they visited. They checked and reconnected
broken wires and installed new outlets in each classroom.
The PNP men namely; Mr. Jonel Erong, Mr. Romnick H. Gramacon, Mr. Joel
Corambao and Mr. Daniel G. Caballero also rendered their help in cleaning and
repainting the walls of classrooms.

The school also commended the presence and active participation of all the
parents who exerted much effort for the beautification and safety of the school which
benefits their children. For their timeless effort, the school commended them. But the
whole Brigada Eskwela would not be completely successful if it’s not by the teachers’
unending love for the school community and especially for the pupils’ sake. Of all the
efforts exerted by the community, teachers deliver more of it.
