1.0 Brief Introduction
PMC instrument employ a moving coil, which is mounted on a spindle within the magnetic field of a permanent.
When current flow through the coil it experiences a torque due to the magnetic field causing the coil to move.
PMMI instrument use a moveable iron vane or piece (soft iron) within a magnetic field created by a
permanent magnet.
When current passes through the coil, it generate a magnetic field, attracting the iron vane, which moves to
a position depending on the current or voltage.
