Versatility - Has a wide range of applications, from
recreation, eg. camping, to emergency situations, eg.
disaster relief.
Convenience - Portable, can be used on-the-go.
Accessibility - Available to all, eg. both, people from
PROS
urban areas, and rural areas.
Solves a real problem - Lack of clean drinking water
is a very serious issue in many parts of a world.
High production cost - Technology and materials used, as
well as manufacturing processes involved will be
expensive.
High purchase cost - Cost of product will have to be high
to make up for high production cost.
CONS
Limited storage capacity - Frequent refills required.
Dependency on sunlight - Certain seasons, eg. monsoon
or winter, cloudy days, or nighttime may reduce
efficiency.
Is production cost-effective? Is the product unique in the
market? Are there any
No. Technology used is advanced,
competitors?
and materials needed are
expensive. Production on a mass Yes. A similar product by GoSun exists,
scale will be tricky. but that is a station, whereas we are
aiming to make a more compact
apparatus, resembling a bulky water
bottle.
Is it realistic?
It depends. Our idea is very
ambitious, but with the right
guidance and assistance
from experts, it is
achievable.

Quality - Assured protein powder and pre-workout
gummy quality because of brand partnerships.
Variety - Multiple delicious flavours.
Sustainability - Material used to produce cans will
PROS
be biodegradable.
Convenience - Available in singles, six-packs, and
twelve packs, getting cheaper in bulk.
One-time use - The custom-designed cans are designed to
be used once, and then disposed of.
Repeated trips - Because of the single-use nature of the
cans, customers will have to repeatedly make trips to buy
the product.
High production cost - Because the cans have a custom-
CONS
design, it will take a large amount of capital to set up mass
production, eg. manufacturing equipment
Shelf life - Protein powder and gummies have a limited shelf
life.
Is production cost-effective? Is the product unique in the
market? Are there any
No. Since the cans have a custom design,
no manufacturing equipment exists to competitors?

to be funded. The materials in
No. No other product in the
consideration are also expensive. fitness industry completely
incorporates all of the features
of our product.
Is it realistic?
It depends. We believe it is
not too ambitious, and is
achievable with some help
from our teachers and
experts in the field.

Consumer preference - As environmental awareness grows,
many customers would be encouraged to opt for our eco-
friendly option rather than competitors.
Reduced dependency on fossil fuels - Manufacture of
bioplastics is energy efficient and fewer emissions of
greenhouse gases. PROS
Lower toxicity - Lower toxicity levels than traditional plastics.
Potential for closed-loop systems - Bioplastics can fit into
circular economies, involving processes such as reusing and
recycling.
Limited biodegradability - Some bioplastics are not fully
biodegradable, contributing to pollution.
High production cost - More expensive to produce than
traditional plastics, increasing the cost of the product.
Inferior durability - May be more sensitive to environmental CONS
conditions and more susceptible to wear-and-tear.
Inconsistency - Properties may vary depending on
feedstock and manufacturing process, affecting
consistency.
Is production cost-effective? Is the product unique in the
market? Are there any

solely on frozen foods.
Is it realistic?
Yes. We believe that this is
an achievable idea, and an
interesting topic. Bioplastic
is definitely the material of
the future.
After going through the pros and cons of all 3 ideas, we
have chosen to go forward with Idea 2 because of:
Our group members involvement and passion in the
fitness industry. Kian and Aryaveer often exercise,
and Steve plays a multitude of different sports.
Our fascination towards the SDGs 3, 12 & 17 in
particular. We noticed these three goals repeating
more than others in our brainstorming session. We
wanted to choose a topic that interested us.
Finally, we chose this topic because we believe that
we can make a real difference. Instead of drinking
products like Red Bull and heading towards an
early death, people will finally have a tasty and
healthy alternative.
Thanks!
