NSYSU was established in 1980 with its campus on the Sizih Bay, a well-
known scenic spot in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Since 2006, NSYSU has been among the
top universities in Taiwan to receive significant funding from the Ministry of
Education for academic excellence. Outstanding academic achievements exhibited
by all six colleges have landed NSYSU among the world’s top universities in many
academic rankings.
NSYSU has over 240 sister-universities in more than 40 countries
with cooperation including student exchange programs,

Kaohsiung is the third populated city in Taiwan with 2.77 million residents.
The City has transformed from an industrial center with refining and
shipbuilding industries to focusing on semiconductor/
photoelectric, digital-content, biomedical, cultural creativity, and tourism
industries.

Climate
Tropical Monsoon climate, average temperature 25°C,
with high of 35°C in July and low of 12°C in January.
Rain and typhoon usually in summer months of June-August.
