ACTIVITY 1
WORD SEARCH!
QUESTIONS:
1. Wavelength is the distance between two successive crests or troughs of a wave.
2. As the wavelength travels to the right, the spaces became shorter and shorter until it’s too close
to each crests and troughs.
3. Gamma Rays radiates the highest frequency and its wavelength is the shortest.
4. Wavelength is express in meters. On the other hand, frequency is the number of waves passing
by a specific point per second. Wavelength is the measured distance between two waves while
frequency is the measure of recurrence of the waves.
5. As the frequency increases, the wavelength gets shorter. As the frequency decreases,
the wavelength gets longer.
ACTIVITY 2
SHORT TO LONG…
QUESTIONS:
1. If it is arranged in an increasing wavelength then the Gamma Rays must be written first because
it has the shortest wavelength.
2. Radio wave should be written last as it has the longest wavelength.
ACTIVITY 3
INCREDIBLY CONNECTED
QUESTIONS:
1. Electromagnetic waves differ in terms of its wavelength by their own respective measurement
of length.
2. Radio waves have the longest wavelengths while the gamma rays have the smallest wavelengths
in the electromagnetic spectrum. These two differ in sequence of energy, from lowest energy to
highest energy. The energy carried by a radio wave is low, while the energy carried by
a gamma ray is high.
3. The wavelength and frequency are closely related to each other, longer the wavelength, the
lower the frequency and the shorter the wavelength the higher the frequency. The equation
that relates wavelength and frequency for electromagnetic waves is: λν=c where λ is
the wavelength, ν is the frequency and c is the speed of light.
II. WHAT TO LEARN
ACTIVITY 4
“RELATIVELY COMPARED”
1. Microwave has longer wavelength than that of Infrared but shorter compared to that of a Radio
wave.
2. Radio wave is use in radio broadcasting because it has longer wavelength than Infrared. But the
frequency of infrared is higher than the Radio.
3. Light wave has lower frequency than UV ray but its wavelength is longer than the later.
4. X- rays can penetrate through flesh due its frequency which is higher than UV ray but lower than
Gamma rays.
5. The frequency of UV is higher compared to Light but lower than X-rays.
QUESTIONS:
1. The longest wavelength in EM wave is the Radio Waves.
2. The shortest wavelength in EM wave is the Gamma Rays.
3. The highest frequency in EM wave is the Gamma Rays.
4. The shorter the wavelengths and higher the frequency corresponds with greater energy while
the longer the wavelengths and lower the frequency results in lower energy.
5. A longer wavelength means a lower frequency, and a shorter wavelength means a
higher frequency.
