Aelos 1s, our humanoid robot, is packed with fun and exciting features perfect for all the family to enjoy,
not only does he move and dance but can hold boxing matches and even play football. However, he is
really teaching your little ones about programming, tutoring them in the basics of robot operation.
Learning should always be fun, so we have put all we can into this fun packed educational robot
companion.
My Intelligent features

 Voice recognition:
Speaking to a robot has never been easier, Aelos has advanced voice recognition features which
allow a seamless and natural form of communication. You can ask him how his day is going or
what the weather is like or what the stars are made of.
 Coding:
Aelos comes with pre-installed action programs, but he is still hungry for knowledge and is
constantly learning new actions. You can program Aelos yourself via our proprietary software,
which allows different movements to be learnt by Aelos, you can teach him whatever you want!
Further, we have an Aelos community of users who are uploading new and innovative applications
to share and play with.
 STEM:
Our goals are to educate the children of tomorrow, and with that in mind we have provided APP
based on Google’s Blockly programming language for children to learn Science, Technology,
Engineering and Math. Aelos is not only a toy but an expert teacher!
 FUN:
Children have a great imagination that can come up with weird, cool and crazy concepts. With
Aelos, that imagination is now set to run wild. Providing a fun, interactive way for children to
have a great time, learning and laughing along with Aelos.

Controller (Optional)

Aelos’s controller turns him into a fun and magic toy to be enjoyed by the whole family, he is easily
controllable, allowing the user to perform a variety of exciting movements. The Aelos controller is
ergonomically designed to be comfortable during prolong use, giving the user a natural sense of control
over the robot.

AELOS 1S app is for realizing the basic control so that users can experience the fun of a humanoid robot.
To make AELOS more potential and logically rich, there is AELOS STEM. By using this app, you can
program the robot yourself. The AELOS STEM is also divided into three sections: the explorer, the new
project and my project. For ideal programming enlightenment, AELOS STEM uses Google’s complete
visual programming language.

Welcome to use your EDUcation ROBOT-AELOS EDU.

The manual gives an introduction of AELOS EDU the robot's basic functions and precautions
to guide you in quickly familiarizing you with the robot. Let’s begin!
Hello,I am AELOS, a smart robot. My name originates from the God of Wind in Greek
mythology -Aeolus, meaning the beauty of being swift and agile.

1. The robot’s main body

The battery is built in the robot’s belly. Do not remove it!
Charge the battery fully prior to use of the robot.

The main control board is at the robot’s back.

The robot has 3 built-in sensors and 3 external sensor ports.

FAQ
About robot
1) Check the Battery volume

1. Check the power switch

2. Check the Bluetooth status
3. Restart APP and try again

2) Entertainment version Robot does not response to App’s command

1. Noisy environment will affect the voice recognition. Please may move to a quiet place and try
again.
2. It may cause by weak WIFI connection. Please reset the WIFI connection for robot.

4) Robot unable to stand when turn on the switch

1. To check the Battery volume

2. Servo may get damaged. Please contact after-sale service for maintenances

5) APP connection failed for voice control

1. Check the Battery volume.

2. The network connection is not stable. Please move to a place where has better WIFI
connection and try again.
3. Please click “retry” button in the prompt window when connection is failed.

6) User cannot download action file from action store

1. Please confirm login status before download.

2. The network connection needs to be stable while downloading music files.

7) User cannot enter a page in APP or robot does not respond to command.

1. To clean up background process, then restart APP and robot network

8) Robot does not play music while dancing

1. To check the Bluetooth connection between phone and speaker.

2. To check the voice volume on your phone.
3. To remove this action in your APP and download again from action store

9) Servo failed while dancing

1. Restart and reset the robot. If the problem could not be solved, please contact after-sale
service for maintenances.

10) Phone does not send any voice signal when connecting robot to network
 1. Please disconnect your phone with robot’s Bluetooth speaker and resend the code. If the
problem could not be solved, the APP network configuration need to be reset.

11) APP crashed when enter game pad page

1. Action files reach the ceiling, please remove part of them. Please refer to appendix 1.

12) Robot keeps repeating same action.

1. Press STOP button and reset robot.

13) The action of robot is not match with the background music

1. Please remove the action and download it again from action store.
2. Please stop the tumbler mode immediately. Robot must be in standing mode when tumbler
mode is started.

14) Robot has a fall when performing the action after the action configuration.

1. The file transmission was failed. Please remove the action from your phone and download it
again from action store.

15) Synchronous failed or could not get access to robot data.

1. To reset Bluetooth connection

2. To restart the APP
3. The quantity of action files may reach the ceiling. Thus, a part of them need to be removed.

16) Robot cannot keep standing while performing actions

1. The “zero point” of robot need to be reset. Please refer to appendix 2.

About battery
 It depends on how would you use it. Normally it would be around 50 minutes.
 How should I charge Aelos?
 Turn off the power and connect the robot to adapter to charge it.

About data issue

 What is the memory capacity of Aelos? 1GB

About APP
 Can I use APP and PC to control Aelos?
Yes, both APP and PC could control Aelos but not at the same time.
 Can I use Aelos APP in Android phone or iPhone?
Yes, you can.

About the developer

 What programming language does Aelos robot use?
The develop software of Aelos is programmed by LEJU company. We developed our own PC
software. The programming language of the robot is C.

You can download the DirectX repair tool on this

2. No display of COM after when connect the robot to PC software.
Download the driver file through website: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1eSy6yKM, use password:
cpmz. Download and unzip the documents, then install driver file according to the instructions.
3. The driver had been installed successfully but Com number can’t be shown when robot has been
connected with PC software.
Download the instructions of Disable Driver Signature Enforcement driver through
website: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1qYG2YmS, use password: 6ury. Operate according to the
instructions, restart the computer, then you can connect to the COM.

I cannot access voice recognition
Were you able to download the Aelos1S app?

If you were then please follow the steps listed on the User Manual 2 (page
15). To use the speech recognition features check page 20.

I also recommend checking the following FAQ:

The application that you should use to make the WIFI connection is the
AELOS 1S not the STEM one nor the AELOS one and to use voice recognition
you must be connected to a WIFI network, not Bluetooth.

Question: The robot cannot be detected?

Answer:

1. Please check whether the robot is powered on.

2. Please check whether power is sufficient (When the robot works
normally, the indicator light on the power button turns blue; when the
power is low, the indicator light turns red)
3. Please ensure the Bluetooth of mobile phone is switched on.
4. Restart the robot and the mobile APP, and try again.

The closest thing that the manual mentions is the "reset:

2 Control of the Robot

2.1 Start-up
The power button is in the back of the robot.
Press and hold the power button for 1 second to
start up the robot.

The power button has more functions as follows:

 Start up:
Press and hold button for 1 second
  Shut down:
Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds
 Emergency stop:
Press the power button once
 Reset:
Press the power button twice

When the robot works normally, the indicator light on the power button turns
blue:
when the power is low, the light turns red.

There is a port on AELOS can I plug in to connect?

I’m guessing you are referring to the USB port, that is for PC programming.
You can read more about this on page 28 on the user manual 1.

The Solution: The person that sold me this robot claimed that it was an Aelos
1S Model but in fact it is a Aelos Basic Model. Except for the lack of a head
turning servo, they are visually indistinguishable but require different Apps for
control.
